If it were not for mining then this airport would be a veritable white elephant structure build in military air space.
The Downs is the resting place of my Grandparents on both sides of my family and in particular my own father and mother is buried on the banks of the Condamine River at Killarney and at Warwick respectively and I was born on the Darling Downs myself and during my life I have spent many happy hours just cruising in the absolute beauty of the area.

"No Jab No Pay", has brought out the adverse opinions of the pro vaxxers and the anti vaxxers and its become a bitter struggle about who is right in this very explosive issue.
The opinions are juxtaposed to each other out there in the public arena and the stark differences in opinion are numerous.
Mothers and daughters are in disagreement over this and it has caused friends to part company because of such differences in opinion on the emotive subject of vaccination.
Opinions no longer matter as the Government passes 'The new No Jab, No Pay' laws (Social Services Legislation Amendment). The bill, which passed the Senate yesterday with the support of the
Coalition, Labor and The Greens, removed the payment of some tax
benefits to parents who don't vaccinate their children, including those
who conscientiously object to vaccination.
Originally, this law was put in place to stop paying financial benefits to parents of children up to and including the age seven (7) who were not toeing the line and complying with the Australian Government's immunization schedule but somehow the government added some sneaky amendments which means anyone under 20 years of age. No Jab No Pay. You can be an adult and lose your benefits if you are under 20 years of age.
I vaccinated my children, I was not awake as it is called now [wake up to government agenda] and I was not aware of what the legislation and future changes to this meant for us all down the track.
In my time as a young mother it was a personal choice to vaccinate your child/children. However there was a distinct fear evident of those who had not vaccinated and I personally heard a lot of mothers saying these people were not caring for their children and had selfish ways.
I can see how this can be thought by one side of the argument but for this to be a fair argument, it also must be seen for both sides. Both could say the same 'argument'. [selfish ways]
Personally I am concerned this new legislation could lead to people becoming submissive to vaccinations of all types in the future with the door opening here with this No jab No Pay legislation.
There are types of controlling drugs/substances that the ruling govt of the day may think is useful to their agenda, and with legislation all citizens under law could be ordered to be vaccinated.
It is also my opinion that to tie the non vaccination to the non payment of financial benefits is a terrorist act on mothers and fathers and carers. One has to ask the question "Whose children are they?"
People are giving up their rights so fast it has become quite significant how much of our responsibility we are handing over to governments. So what will this look like in 20 years time when our children are the grand parents of the day? Will People just lay down and take what the governments say is good for us with out a thought? Yes! this is a great concern. Why? Because as of the end of 2016 the Childhood Immunization Register will be simplified and is to be known as the Australian Immunisation Register.

In the early hours of Black Friday, 13 March 2015,
growing frustrations in the Aboriginal community had reached a pressure
point. After the repeated failure of successive Government’s to honor
Australia’s First Nations at the most basic of levels, the perfect storm
was brewing. Compounding this, the global lurch to the right under the
guise of ‘austerity’, had seemingly become a code-switch of Government
to normalize racism, bigotry, oppression and genocide.
Since
the appointment of Tony Abbott as Australia’s 28th Prime Minister in
2013, a cauldron of dissent has manifested across Australia generally.
Labeled as “One Term Tony”, the incumbent Prime Minister is world renown
for an ever growing list of contentious and inappropriate comments; in
diplomacy "Look, I'm going to shirtfront Mr Putin ... you bet I am.";
war mongering “We are ready to do what we must as a government and as a
nation to keep our country safe.”; on Asylum Seekers "If stopping the
boats means being criticised because I'm not giving information that
would be of use to people smugglers, so be it"; global-warming “I am, as
you know, hugely unconvinced by the so-called settled science on
climate change” amongst others. Abbott’s homage to the British Monarchy
returned the archaic practice of knighthood and resulted in a glorified
visit to Australia by the heir apparent. His unashamed concessions for
mining alongside corporate interests are rampant all the while
concealing and sidestepping the clarification of his citizenship, a
question remaining unanswered, which would determine whether he is
indeed legal to hold office in the first place.
So it was of
no real surprise that the self-appointed Minister for Women’s Interests
and the self-declared Prime Minister for Indigenous Affairs would
blunder his way into infamy with a denigrating remark toward Aboriginal
people living on their traditional lands, which Abbott defined as a
“lifestyle choice”. His remark was made on a surprise visit to a mining
stronghold in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, on the traditional lands of
the Maduwangka people, now forever scarred by the “Super-pit” a
viciously gorged open-cut gold mine approximately 3.6 kilometres (2.2
mi) long, 1.6 kilometres (1.0 mi) wide and 512 metres (1,680 ft) deep,
symbolic of colonial prosperity and greed. The ongoing disdain toward
Aboriginal people and the flippant nature of disregard toward Aboriginal
culture was the kinder needed, it was the trigger needed to polarize a
nation.
Abbott’s comment was in support of a position declared
by the Western Australian State Premier Colin Barnett, who on 12
November 2014 announced that he would close up to 150 remote Aboriginal
communities, saying the state could no longer afford to pay for
essential services like power and electricity. The Premier’s comments
were in response to the Federal Government’s decision to stop
subsidizing these services in the middle of 2015, putting the financial
responsibility on individual state governments, a statement Tony Abbott
had made at the Garma Festival in 2013, well before he was voted into
power.
In direct response to this, the website www.sosblakaustralia.com
was set up by Sam Cook on 27 November 2014 as it was felt that this was
an indicator for a bigger political strategy at play and backing
Barnett’s proclamation of forced closures. It made a soft entry online
and was launched via social media, calling for Aboriginal communities to
register their needs and individuals to offer skills that could aid the
community. This was with the view to be responsive and prepared for
what was believed to be an assumption of Government that this was a fait
accompli and that Aboriginal people would not fight back.
On
the late evening of Thursday 12th March, this was about to change. A
conversation thread began on Facebook by Darangah Nagarra Torres with
Janine Dureau, Annette Kogolo and Nelson Kurni Bieundurry with the view
to having a conversation around a rally or gathering event for Thursday
19th March to coincide with Australia’s Closing the Gap Day, a
Government initiative that claimed to deliver sound service and results
for Aboriginal participation into the broader Australian social fabric.
Over the course of the evening this gained momentum as Ngigjingah
Maryanne Skeen, Janella Isaac, Kelly Kitching, Jodie Bell, Kankawa
Nagarra Knight, Lyn Shaw, Layangali Bieundurry, Lillian Chestnut, Jamie
Davidson Darren Mitchelson, Tjapanangka Paylrntarri, Nawoola Miriwoong,
Ebony Hill, Venessa Poelina, Anne Poelina, Johannah Kitching, Danny
Teece Johnson and Sam Cook were added. By 2am on Friday 13 March Sam
Cook had activated a social media effort as the public Facebook page
‘Stop the Forced Closure of Aboriginal Communities’ and closed
organizers group was created. It was hoped that by the morning there may
be close to 1,000 likes.
Seven hours later over 2,000 people
had liked the page. It spoke loudly to those involved, that people did
care and that Australians from all over the country were fed up with our
Government. The exponential growth continued, bringing hope
communities in the direct line of forced closure while binding the
humanity of Australia and the world.
Five days later this
action had mobilised every state and territory with 30 known community
rallies of up to 30,000 people marching in the Streets. From the most
remote Aboriginal Communities, small regional towns, major cities and
the capital cities of Australia. Online a virtual protest raged, with
international celebrity endorsement coming from Bianca Jagger, Hugh
Jackman, Russell Crowe, Talib Kweli, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Ruby
Rose, The Veronicas, Zimbabwe Kid amongst others. Our Aboriginal
Australian and Australian artists and sportspeople stood solid in their
support with major statements made at their various events and public
platforms. The artistic response started to take shape with artwork,
songs, poems, writings and street art campaigns underpinning a cultural
revolution.
Importantly, there has been a reconnection with the
Aboriginal Rights movement and key activists in the United States, with
Angela Davis, Dr Cornel West and the American Indian Movement, Turtle
Island (Canada) and Aotearoa, New Zealand, with a powerful outpouring of
support from all levels of Maori Iwi (people), who are strong in their
public stance. This is of historical significance as there is over 70
years of deep links forged between our civil rights and black rights
movements. In the 21st Century this is now being redefined, re-awakened
and garnering further strength.
In 30 days, ‘SOS BLAK
AUSTRALIA, Stop the Forced Closures of Aboriginal Communities’ created a
social media platform larger in population than that of the 26th
largest city in Australia with a reach almost the size of 4th Capital
City in Australia, which ironically, is the City of Perth, Western
Australia, the capital of the State most under threat. These figures
grow in the hundreds daily. Our reach extends beyond 12 million. These
figures are already outdated in the time it has taken to write this.
At the back end, the plan goes far beyond calls to action and
successive Governments or Prime Ministers, inclusive of the 29th Prime
Minister of Australia, Malcolm Turnbull, who has remained silent and not
undone any of the activity of Abbott in relation to Aboriginal
Communities. What has been sitting at the heart of SOSBLAKAUSTRALIA is a
humanitarian effort we are aiming to drive alongside the communities.
It is our plan to get rid of the rhetoric around viability by replacing
the flailing infrastructure and making all our communities sustainable
through alternative power, water, waste solutions as well as repair
years of neglected infrastructure. This is in line with our Sovereignty
and we have individuals in the community already looking to the
potential to take out a class action on behalf of our Aboriginal Nations
against the State and Federal Government.
Our communities have
issued a vote of no confidence in both State and Federal Governments
and we are all aware that this is an epoch of upheaval as the ongoing
attack by the incumbent Government has de-funded significant
organisations who are the lifeblood for our people. It quite literally
is genocide unfolding.
Yet we remain firm in our resolve and
strong in our commitment to continue for as long as it takes to shift
this supremacy regime off the backs of our people. We will stand against
the great land grab for our mineral rich country that sit behind the
influence of Government in their attempts to remove Aboriginal people
from their traditional homelands. We shall overcome.

The World Meteorological Organisation has announced that, according to
the data it’s collected so far this year, 2015 looks let to have the
highest global average surface temperature on record.
These creatures affectionately known as Water Bears, due to their bear like cute faces and bear like claws on the extremities are 'Tardigrades'. These little creatures are simply phenomenal in what they do and how they survive.

dehydration, radiation bombardment, and even the vacuum of deep space.
Now scientists have sequenced a tardigrade genome, and are very
surprised by the results.
Yesterday a group of researchers led by University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill biologist Thomas Boothby published their analysis of the tardigrade genome in theProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
What they found was that 17.5 per cent of the tardigrade genome
actually comes from other organisms, including plants, fungi, bacteria,
and viruses. These genes entered tardigrade DNA in a process known as
horizontal gene transfer, which is quite common among single-celled
organisms but rare among animals. The closest comparison with the
tardigrade is a microscopic form of plankton called a rotifer (pictured
below, eating), which has about 9 per cent of its DNA from other
organisms.
I was just reading an article I will link here for future reference about a copy of the Quran found that predates Islam as the story is told today. This has become known as the Birmingham Quran.

AD568 and AD645, while the dates usually given for Muhammad are AD570 to
AD632. At the very latest, it was made before the first formal text of
the Koran is supposed to have been collated at the behest of the caliph

it could date back to Mohammed’s childhood, or possibly even before his
birth.

I have fond memories of Killarney from my childhood. It was a lush environment and a great climate, the place always smelled lovely. Everyone grew beautiful roses and the black soil was almost edible it was that rich.
My grandparents Markus and Matilda Peters (nee Butler) lived there together from the time of their marriage. My Grandfather owned the grocery shop in the main street and later on in my childhood John Carter managed the store. John Carter was Queenie Carter (nee Butler) son, Queenie and my grandmother (Matilda) were sisters. I am presently researching my family history and I was very interested to read this very interesting piece in the newspaper concerning the organist - Miss B Peters. Given this is in 1926 - then I have some idea on finding her on genealogy sites etc. She is a miss here and so this means she is the daughter of a Peters, and not her married name. On Tuesday evening the Killarney Presbyterian Choir of 17 voices under the baton of Mr. John McArthur jour neyed to Acacia Greek, to render a programe in. the picturesquely situat ed district church building, which had just recently being thoroughly renovated and the objective of the entertainment was to defray in part the 'financial obligations incurred. About seven p.m. the party left Killarney comfortably ensconced in Mr. Roy Clarey's motor conveyance which had been gratuitously placed at their disposal.
A good attendance of local residents comfortably filled the building. Mr. John Inglis in the capacity of chairman contributed to the evening's pleasure by his capable conduct of the program. This opened up with an organ, solo by Miss B. Peters, theKillarney church, organist, followed by a Male Quartette consisting of Rev. M McDermant, J, Spreadborough, Loose more and J. McArthur; quartette, Miss Backhouse, Miss Grace Bond, Messrs. J. Arthur, J. Spreadborough; quartette, Mrs. C. White, Miss Grace Bond. Messrs Spreadborough and McArthur; duet, Messer F. Fielding, and J. Spread borough; elocutionary item; Mrs. Mc Dermant, "The fashionable "choir'
vocal solos, Mrs. C. White, Mr. Loose more and Rev. M McDermant.
During the evening the choir render ed a number of items in it manner suggestive of careful training and re fleeting credit upon their conductor. Mr. H. F. Wride also contributed with a monologue series.
At the close of the evening - Mr. Inglis, supported by Mr. W. Jones, thanked the visitors, and extended an invitation to all to partake of refreshment prepared by the lady adherents and served upon, the lawn, The Rev. M McDermant 'thanked the ladies for their courtesy in providing the much enjoyed tea and dainties. The singing of "For they are jolly good fellows" brought a thoroughly enjoy able evening to a close. years ago. Almost all marine archaeologist, oceanographers,
palaeo-oceanographers and most biologists agree there have been 4 super
catacysms across the Holocene, and three minor ones, with 3 specific ice
melt surges (pulses) since the onset of the Holocene. The major ones
occur at -14,800, -11,200 and -7,000 years before present. Between
11,200 ybp and -7,000 ybp, oceans rose 195'. The proof of the last great
cataclysm -7,000 years ago exactly, is the Storegga Underwater
Landslide (a 700 mile wide slope failure), dated to exactly 7K years
ago. In addition, the Bosporus Strait breached 7,000 years ago. Both
Niagara and Minnesota Falls birthed 7,000 years ago, and worldwide there
are major Tsunami deposit dated to 7,000 years ago. Ancient Canals on

Tenterfield in Northern NSW has a special tree repuded to have been brought from England in a *'Jam Tin' by Edward Parker in 1861. It has become known as the lucky Cork Tree. It is located in Wood Street in Tenterfield NSW. Located here on the map below.

Melbourne, Victoria, was on route for a Tornado today. This super cell was downgraded, however it was a tornado for a short time after starting as a funnel cloud off the coast. Some places lost roofs and trees were uprooted.

The Greens got some Legal advice and it makes it clear that neither the
Premier or the Minister for Local Government have any type of power to sack
or suspend councils or to force council amalgamations.
Below is the independent barrister’s
advice.
This serves to confirm that the "Local Government Act" disables the government undertaking to do a political sacking or suspend a council and prevents anything being put in place whereby administrators say yes to amalgamations.
The advice draws a number of important conclusions:
If a council stands firmly with its residents to opposed to council
amalgamation this forces the government to send proposals for
amalgamations through a rigorous process that must involve the
independent Boundaries Commission. Unlike IPART’s Fit For the Future
assessment, this process is governed by an established set of statutory
criteria that are not rigged in favour of amalgamations
There are clear remedies available to councils and councillors, such
as injunctions and orders, if the government attempts to misuse the
Local Government Act
The IPART findings and report cannot be used as a substitute for the
legislative process and inquiries required under the Local Government
Act
There is real legal doubt as to whether or not IPART had
the legislative authority to conduct the investigation it did into local
government
If a council gives in to the Premier’s bullying and resolves to
‘voluntarily’ amalgamate, the only legal effect of this is to prevent
the amalgamation proposal being reviewed and commented on by the
Boundaries Commission.
I have never doubted the fact that dogs are good for us. It is the reason why I had always wanted a dog in my life. I had read before they could remedy the symptoms of PTSD. She gives me such a lovely lick goodbye and looks at me with her big brown eyes with excitement as though she is saying "See you when I get back".
I have not been sick for the eight years since she has been in my life. I was putting this down to onion bottoms [to plant] left on the bench to dry (reputed to ward off illnesses).
I now wonder it is having a dog. As I type this we are on my bed and she loves to be near me. When I am sad she sticks very close to me and its undeniable this makes me feel better. Her kisses will be so much more acceptable now we know they may have some pro-biotic value to health.
Since laying down with her when she nearly died of a tick and her communicating to me exactly where the tick was hiding after we had all tried endlessly in vain to locate the ghastly parasite proved to me that we can communicate on a level where Love is the channel to use.

It is always a good time to celebrate All Hallows and honor those that have died by lighting candles and visiting cemeteries. They call this Halloween. I celebrated with a charity dress up event. I had never ever gone to anything in fancy dress before. I have always longed to do this. So I can tick that one off the bucket list. It was lots of fun.
