Little known facts about GHEE!

Ghee is Ghee, It is similar to clarified butter but Ghee is heated / simmered for a longer period of time.  After reading the article I will reference here below I am now very interested to start using Ghee in more of our cooking here on the Hill.  Using Ghee is age old apparently.  Ghee doesn't go off at room temperature (or in the fridge).  Ghee is super flavourful displaying a nutty taste.

Ghee Benefits: Are They Better Than Butter?

"FARMHER'S" Girls who farm

The food we plant and harvest and consume can heal us.  This is a plain simple fact.  'Good Food' carries a vibration.  At last the world is looking at how the invisible governs the visible.

Women are doing a lot of the finer work in the vegetable patches!  Delicate weeding and a subtly that is required for balance in our gardens.

IMG 6503 How are these Onions
"Social  enterprise Onions"

Male stereotypes around farming in over the last 100 years have been destructive and have been very 'gung ho'  about the use of chemical and the destruction of land under the guise of farming.  This has to be turned back around to loving practices when dealing with the living Earth.

It is wonderful for children to learn about the growing processes. There's a real joy around this.  It is so needed to fully integrate proper learning.  How can a child learn properly if the child doesn't even know where the very food they consume comes from or how it is grown?
After learning where food grows, the next step is to understand how the food grown causes their bodies to grow also... This is home school science 101

*Social Enterprise Onions =  Onions grown from the onion bums.  See my blog.  "How to make a bag of onions last forever".

GARLIC 2017 edition

Two days ago I harvested our Garlic from the bottom yard and every piece is beautiful and there are zero onions (so far).  There are still around twenty plants left in the ground that haven't flowered as yet so I'm giving these a little bit more time in the ground to see if they do end up flowering at some stage before I harvest those too.

IMG 4754 Deepwater Garlic growing 2016 season.

Today we are plaiting the garlic to make it beautiful for hanging and for gifts.  I use stacks of garlic everyday in our food and if I were to purchase that amount I use then there would be no money left for other things.  So its a super idea to grow it each year and keep the family healthy and happy and keep the nasty vampires at bay.

I have a link to a blog by Penny Woodward listed here where you can get all of the instructions for Garlic Plaiting.

PLAITING GARLIC

So, it was a good idea I consulted the instructions before I plaited.  I could not plait the Garlics yet.  "Oh No" I said, "They're not limp enough".  So I have to wait a fortnight at least until their stems are limper and able to be plaited and held and manipulated.  If I was to begin this today there would just be broken stalks.  I was disappointed but now I am just eager to try this and I will be patient.  They will be wonderful I am sure.

HARVESTING HINTS

When the Garlic is ready for harvest its a great idea to not leave it in the ground if there is a lot of wet weather around.  This splits the cloves and makes for not nice looking garlic.  It is only the perfect image that are damaged.  A split clove is just that, a split clove.  It will still taste awesome.  As the year draws on and I don't have as much left  I pull my cloves apart and put in a basket in the kitchen cupboard where its easy to retrieve each piece.  Any Garlic is so good for you, any varieties.  It tastes fabulous.

Its all how you look at it.. Stop leaning!

Five Mistakes That Can Lead to Tragedy. . . . .

IMG 4776

So many people are feeling oppressed in the times I am living in.  This is the great 21st Century where we are supposed to have solved the issue of humanity and its issues.  The picture reads very differently.  Unemployment, poverty,  homelessness and abandonment, apposing this is abundance and high living coupled with greed and loose living.

As I see it, largely humanity appears blind to what this may mean in a true sense.  For me as I understand this, it means naught has changed for at least the last few thousand years where slavery is still rife in what ever form it presents itself.  Humanity have always been slaves to the powerful and there has always been masters for the slaves albeit in many forms ie Kings, Popes, Lords,  and Chieftains.  Humans have been bought and sold as a commodity for as long as life has been or since Adam was a boy some would say.

In ancient Rome if a General was found guilty of a crime he was put to death, as were his 400 odd slaves (also put to death).  Companies rise and fall today and with that go the hopes and dreams of ordinary people when their vehicle to get to where they want to go no longer exists with job loss and poverty.

How can anyone be happy in such a situation?  Well  that is just the point of this blog.  Its not about the situation that makes you happy or sad.  Happiness is a state of mind and therefore one can choose to be happy in any circumstance within reason.  Loss of loved ones excepted.

When faced with the challenges of life it is good to try to be content with this understanding and go with the flow so to speak.  Act like a river.  Have you ever tried to stop or dam a raging river, good luck with that.  This is what is meant by just go with it and look for ways to overcome every challenge as you go down the river of life.  Take notice of the times that you find yourself saying things are bad and that you will be happy when you get whatever, a new car, new house, new job, new life. Stop!  This is comparing oneself to those gluttonous absurdly rich overlords and corporate high rollers who are in fact spiritually devoid and whose hearts are usually black or non existent, those who are only happy when spending money.

So, how can you do this.  It is a simple choice.  Choose to be happy, choose to be resourceful.  Choose to use the rebelliousness nature borne inside of us and use this to succeed where the odds look stacked.  Choose to think  carefully where the budget is concerned and learn to stop coveting items on the shelves in the stores.  This last one is a biggie.   Of course we all need to visit the shops and purchase goods.  It requires discipline because its all the other brightly coloured items out there that makes shopping a sobering challenge.  Make a list and stick to that list and do not take yourself site seeing looking at things that are basically not affordable on a mad strict budget.

There are plenty of second hand shops that sell bargain priced items with furniture and large goods and there are other ways around obtaining those things with NILS Loans if a larger sum is required.  As I have mentioned previously it calls for being disciplined in all areas where the finances are concerned.   The amount of money is decidedly limited if we are talking about the limited income of a Pension or benefit.

There is the absolute benefit of using the'CentrePay' system and everyone should avail themselves to this service to make sure the tiny bit they do get goes where it should go when it should go.  If you pay a couple of dollars more to each utility via this Centrepay method, eventually this will put you into credit and that is a feeling of freedom that you just bought all by yourself by being disciplined and paying the extra along the way.

There is this thing with some folk where they think if they don't pay the rent this week they will catch up next week.  Can you catch up on living next week? No! and neither is catching up on late rent ever going to make life easy or manageable.  Never omit to pay your rent or mortgage payments no matter what.  Nothing is as important as your home base and your shelter.  You can go without food easier if you are warm and housed.  Always cover your own security with being vigilant on this point and make no reason a reason as there is no reason.

Shopping and budgeting is a necessary aspect as we all have to eat.  Buying two of a product when the prices are down quite a few dollars from the normal price (and not over using the product because you have two) will start to put you in a position to look out for the cheaper prices instead of being governed by urgency which costs money.  Lets face it .. to buy coffee for me -- I look for the coffee on special when it is $6.00 off the regular price and then I buy three.  By the time those three are used there is usually another special rolling around so when I am getting to the last tin I keep an eye out for the special again. You would be amazed how much this actually saves and allows you to feel more in control.

There are plenty of Food banks these days but beware as they carry packaged out of date food items and so the quality is compromised with any processed item with a shelf life.  However these places give away bread and fruit and veges and so don't overlook them as it will certainly aid with the grocery burden.

Meal planning and making do with less... Its probably not everyones idea of fun.  With obesity  being the big thing with the health of everyone, children included, you can use your intake of food to be rebellious and just have smaller meals.  If you are not out digging ditches for 8 hours a  day you do NOT need all the calories of a ditch digger and so don't eat them if you aren't digging ditches - simple.  Eat when hungry instead of by the clock.  If you don't feel like lunch then don't have it.  Slowly you get used to it and its not so bad and in fact its probably better for you in so many ways.  Especially if you only have processed foods. The less of that the better.

Which leads me to another area of self help.  Grow things, Grow things you use a lot if you can or grow simple things.  Grow strawberries, grow parsley, Thyme onions etc so that you never have to buy these things.  Look for other things you might use like potatoes as all of the above are easy to grow in containers if a garden is out of the question.  Don't buy the soil for the containers - be resourceful and make a mix, buy one bag and mix that with cow poo you collected and garden soil and compost from your left overs and grow great things to eat.  In times gone past it was necessary for each house to have a kitchen garden.  It should not have been seen as a fashion as its necessary now more than ever.  Our children would be healthier if it still went on.

SAM 6803 My Chives in Flower

To finish, I would encourage any reader to avail themselves to the enlightened understanding of the great Manly Palmer Hall.

Most persons fear the unknown, and we might say that an expert in any field of thinking is one phase of the unknown. The average person is afraid of experts, of people who know more than he does. Our natural tendency in making decisions is to consult people on our own level. In other words, we gain our advice and assistance over a back fence, from some notice on television, some popular handbook, or the general gossip of the neighborhood. I have noticed also that people of varied races or nationalities will nearly always seek advice from members of their own ethnic group.
As a result of this tendency, we are nearly always poorly advised.  Thousands of persons every day go for help to individuals they trust, but often they are consulting friends or even famous persons who are not authorities in the area at all. They may go to some college professor to find out something about religion, which he knows no more about than they do. Age, venerable appearance, distinguished career, high social standing - these do not make the person capable of helping others to decide specific problems.  Actually, nature wants us to solve our own problems. Nature does not want us to lean upon other people.
Always try to solve as much of a problem yourself as is possible. Do not develop the leaning habit.  The more we develop the habit of leaning, the weaker we become.  We must realize that as a nation or a community develops leaner's it becomes weaker as a whole. Where the person tries to evade the need for personal decision, solution, and responsibility, the result is always weakness.

Johnny Cakes

Jonny Cakes

I had to re-blog this post.  I am making my outside fire able to accommodate Johnny Cakes and a griddle today.   Not making an entire kilo of flour though as there is only two of us.

 Enjoy Johnny Cakes..

IMG 2449

Aunty Viv a Bunjalung elder ... we had Johnny cakes together.
Before invasion of this land the women gathered and soaked and dried and ground to make flour to make johnny cakes in the coals.  Flours were made from plants that had to be processed to leech out any toxins first.

Helen said... "DON'T KNEAD the Johnny Cakes" .. I made a batch and didn't knead them and these were 100% better.

Yes let's eat fruit and vegetables! - GLYPHOPHOSPATE POISONED!

Its a scary prospect buying food from the supermarkets in this country and probably others as well.  It's grown with poison and then there is Glyphophospate or Glyphosate, otherwise known by its Monsanto's rock star name of "Round Up".

David Suzuki on GMO

Today in Australia we are growing our cotton  as a Round Up ready crop. Which, incidentally we will wear on our bodies.  Why are we participating?  Large companies getting rich making ordinary mums and dads addicted to the lifestyle and making babies (sick babies or in turn make sicker babies).

According to David Suzuki and I agree emphatically:
We have no idea what the long-term consequences of these genetic manipulations will will be on the public. There is no way that our health authorities can test all possible combinations and permutations over a large enough population over a long enough period to be able to say with assurance. So, basically by slipping it into our food without our knowledge without any indication that there are genetically modified organisms in our food we are now unwittingly part of a massive experiment.

Facebook user spreads misleading information Re:BARCODES

Check out Bar codes on Aldi products

The Country Code Myth

Many people believe that Australian products must have a ’93’ at the beginning of the barcode and therefore you can tell if a product is from Australia based on the barcode number alone. None of this is strictly true – A) Australian products can have any kind of barcode on them and it won’t be a problem, and B) Products coming from outside of Australia can still have these ‘Australian’ Barcodes on them.

Where does this myth come from?

’93’ Barcodes are supplied by GS1 Australia, for this reason many people believe that they are exclusively for Australian products, however, there are no checks of this kind (GS1 only checks that you have paid their annual fees).
Furthermore, people producing products in Australia may choose to become a member of another cheaper GS1 organisation (in another country), or, they may decide to purchase barcodes from an Alternative Barcode Supplier such as Barcodes Australia.

The following misleading story was posted on facebook and shared thousands of times and the person who originally shared this is apart of the LIONS CLUB OF AUSTRALIA. Why is she that gullible?
Please read on ...her story does have some truth but to follow this strictly is suicide.
This is worth knowing, so take the time to read this, especially the 2nd bit....
(SCROLL DOWN)

A week or so ago, Current Affair did a Report on frozen vegetables imported from New Zealand. As it turns out if it is a Coles or Woollies home brand there is a more than good chance that the product has come from China. Products made by McCain’s, Birdseye and other supposed reputable companies from New Zealand are now purchasing vegie products from China and selling that product under their name.

Basically check where it is produced by the comments on the back of the pack and if it says produced from New Zealand and Imported product it has Chinese vegies in it, put it back on the shelf. I would even go as far as to say, even if it has product of New Zealand on it, I would be suspicious about where those vegies in that pack come from. I suppose to play it safe unless it has been grown and packed in Australia stay away from it unless you don’t mind digesting poisons.

Pretty scary stuff!!

Learn from BARCODES

This will cheer you up, hope you're not having chicken for dinner.  Please remember the Australian barcode prefix is 93

PLEASE NOTE - if you love Australian produce and the thought of keeping jobs here, AND you like to eat healthy foods and buy quality products, then please read on. Please also note the Australian barcode prefix is 93.

DANGEROUS IMPORTED FOODS
There are no food inspection regulations of foods grown or processed in China, Vietnam, Hong Kong or Thailand.

Other world countries are scared of China making 'black hearted goods’, but can you differentiate which one is made in Australia, the USA, The Philippines, Taiwan or China? For your Information ... The first 3 digits of the barcode is the country code where-in the product was made.

Example: all barcodes that start with 690; 691 through to 699 are all MADE IN CHINA. 471 is Made in Taiwan .

This is our right to know, but our governments and related departments never educate the public, therefore we have to RESCUE OURSELVES. Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products 'made in china', so they don't show from which country it is made. However, you may now refer to the barcode. Remember, if the first 3 digits are 690 through to 695, then it is Made in China. Don't forget, Hong Kong is now China, too.

00 ~ 13 USA and CANADA
30 ~ 37 FRANCE
40 ~ 44 GERMANY
49 ~ JAPAN
50 ~ UK
57 ~ DENMARK
64 ~ FINLAND
76 ~ SWITZERLAND and LIECHTENSTEIN
93 ~ AUSTRALIA
628 ~ SAUDI ARABIA
629 ~ UNITED ARAB EMIRATESs
740-745 ~ CENTRAL AMERICAa
All 480 Codes are Made in THE PHILIPPINES..

DO NOT BUY FOOD PROCESSED IN CHINA, HONG KONG, VIETNAM or THAILAND!!! Remember, there are no food inspection regulations!!!

WATCH WHAT YOU BUY. ESPECIALLY 'HIGHLINER' FISH PRODUCTS; all come from China, even though the box says 'product of Canada', it is from China and'processed' in Canada, that is, only the coating is added and packaged in Canada. The fish are raised in pens using chemicals that are banned in Canada as cancer-causing but legal in China. This was exposed on CBC TV's 'Marketplace'.

Please think before buying anything from China.

Avoid buying all processed food packaged in China. Anything goes! We just don't know what else is in those packages. Unlike the United States and Canada (and Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Great Britian et al). China does not have laws regulating food processing.

Basically, do not buy any processed food from China. This includes Hong Kong. MANY companies are using a Hong Kong address to avoid this type of image reputation.

Send to as many people as possible. Do NOT buy food originating in China (or Vietnam or Thailand)! Take the time to read the labels and look for country of origin!

Your Health is at Stake!

REMEMBER THE AUSTRALIAN BARCODE PREFIX????
IT IS 93

Beware to Prepare when using Australian Bush Tucker ... Peas

Toxins and Tucker

Castanospermum australe
The black bean

Although no Australian member of this group has been seriously exploited as a food crop, some have been important as food for both aborigines and for the early European colonists. However, as some of the latter found to their cost, many of the native "peas" are also toxic unless the seed is prepared correctly. This usually involves soaking to leach out the toxin or heating to destroy the toxic chemicals.

Some of the species used for food include:
  • Castanospermum australe, the black bean. The seeds of this species are toxic when raw and are prepared by roasting or soaking in water.
The Black Bean has also proved valuable as a timber species, it's seeds have been utilized - following extensive preparation as a food by Aborigines and it contains alkaloids which have been shown to have anti-HIV and anti -cancer properties.
    Castanospermum australe
    Coastal Jack, Canavalia rosea
    (toxin removed by heat).
This plant was eaten by members
of James Cook's expedition in 1770.

    • Mucuna gigantea leaf and buds
      Mucuna gigantea, burny bean.

    Burny Bean inflorescence
    Mucuna gigantea, burny bean.
The toxic properties of some species have also had an impact on agriculture by other means; ie. by being implicated in livestock poisoning. Nervous system malfunction is seen in poisoning of livestock by some Darling peas. (Swainsona species), and by Gastrolobium species. The rattlepods, Crotalaria species, are also implicated in livestock poisoning. They contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids which accumulate in the liver and produce long-term damage which is often fatal.
"Horses and cattle are more susceptible to poisoning than sheep, but sheep have been poisoned by bluebush pea (Crotalaria eremaea ssp. eremaea) in western Queensland. Poisoned horses develop a condition called "walk-about disease" or "Kimberley horse disease" in which they become unaware of their surroundings and wander blindly. A major cause of this poisoning is Crotalaria crispata, a small plant common in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Other Crotalaria species cause the disease in the remainder of tropical Australia.
In central and northern Queensland an unusual disease of horses is caused by two other species of Crotalaria, C. aridicola (Chillagoe horse poison) and C. medicaginea (trefoil rattlepod). Horses may develop a taste for these plants which damage the oesophagus (gullet) producing ulceration severe enough to stop the horse swallowing food."

    "Flip it or Reverse it"

    nO.3 C 184.1 Macksville Supermarket
    Macksville Woolworths NSW
Supermarket Action that has a lot of merit I think.

I opened up Facebook to find this poor woman despairing over Australian Smoked Oysters or the lack of these on shelves in the big Supermarkets.   It appears this woman's only option to purchase any oysters at all was to participate in the scandalous risky behaviour of buying product imported from China.

As shoppers we are all fairly vigilant with this now.  The recent crisis with Hepatitis B spread from frozen berries imported from China has highlighted the facts that can no longer be ignored. Following in quick succession were the stories of the Melons tasting of metal or chemical and the possibility that food grown here in Australia is at serious risk of contamination also.   Read on to hear what one lady proposes to help highlight this in supermarkets not stocking Australian product when Australian product is clearly available.

That's it!!! I've had enough!! I am officially starting a movement against the multinational, mutilating, conglomerate arseholes known as Coles and Woolworths.

I have finally been spurred to action by my love of smoked oysters. I can now only get them made in china - no other option. And that sucks balls. So it's time to god damn FLIP IT AND REVERSE IT!

If u see it on the shelf and it isn't from here and could be - turn that label! I implore u to join me in this harmless, super annoying protest!! It will in turn send the message that we won't buy and will also employ more staff to turn that shit back around (coz they sure ain't employing them at the checkout - self service, fuck you!)
Image Source : Facebook  Kristy Joy Mcilvenna
Imagine what we could do together bwah ha ha ha ahhh ha ha hhaaa ha haaaa!
So flip it and reverse it people and let's start helping local producers to produce me some Aus smoked tinned oysters!
    Signed Kristy Joy Mcilvenna

So there you have it folks, this is a simple no mess way of showing your absolute disdain for what has happened to food in the big supermarket corporations (ie) Cole's and Woolworth's, others too.

I will surely participate if I find myself in the supermarket and this happens.    So hug of the week goes to this lady for being pro active about what upsets her.  It is only the beginning.

Woo Hoo I have another Mental Illness - Eating Well?

    IMG 5415 Sultana Scones
Homemade cannot be beaten by anyone... its the vibration of love that makes the difference!

So the machine is working overtime now.

    “Orthorexia Nervosa”

This one takes the cake.  If I have ever heard anything as crazy before, this just beats it all.  I see this like a net to capture up the few remaining strong people who have not already been broken down and machined by the machine.

I am preoccupied with eating very little.  I know in my spirit there is going to be a food crisis.   I don't want to be involved in this.  I work hard to see how far I can push myself and not lose health doing it.  This would be seen as extremely unconventional thinking and be seen as crazy.  But, I have always listened to my instincts and these are working over time during the crisis of life the world is facing.

Sun-gazing did help.  I noticed almost straight away I didn't need to eat as much.  The sun was feeding me with an alternative form of energy.  Science has not as yet progressed enough to understand this principal.  I didn't cease eating.  I just listened to my body and was not governed by a clock which said it was breakfast or Dinner.  I simply ate when I was hungry.  Is that crazy?

It was the most amazing year of insight too.  I painted things - I wove things - and I heard things and saw things very differently.  This was the time I saw the ground move.  It was like I could see into the earth and all the tiniest little life forms were saying "hello", thank you for remembering we are here.

So if a desire for eating nutritious food is crazy, imagine what is thought of that sort of behaviour?

    “Orthorexia Nervosa”

From Real Farmacy and Jefferey JaxonRead Full Story HERE
CNN, Fast Company, Popular Science, and other top outlets have all began to trumpet the talking points on cue relatively recently:
"Orthorexia nervosa is a label designated to those who are concerned about eating healthy. Characterized by disordered eating fueled by a desire for “clean” or “healthy” foods, those diagnosed with the condition are overly preoccupied with the nutritional makeup of what they eat".

“Every known illness is associated with a magnesium deficiency” and that, “magnesium is the most critical mineral required for electrical stability of every cell in the body.

That quote was by ~ Dr. Norman Shealy ~

    IMG 9339 Broccoli
    Magnesium 21mg5%
Magnesium deficiency is very often misdiagnosed by the so called health professionals.  This is because the mineral Magnesium isn't overly evident in any blood serum tests.   The reason for this is  less that 1% of the body's magnesium is stored in the bloodstream.  So, consequently the doctor doesn't order up the magnesium status when doing routine tests and the deficiency goes unchecked.

Magnesium deficiency is responsible for so many cases of ill health.  It is also responsible for a society of people with a bunch of absolutely curious diseases and chronic illnesses of all types.

Magnesium plays a role in the electrical connectivity of all of our cells.  Our own personal magneto.  Not unlike the earths magnetosphere.  When the system is out of balance the body attempts to re align itself by drawing from other places to make up the numbers while the body is or has been under stress caused from a myriad of factors.  This is alright every now and again but it is NEVER to be the norm. because the body's defense crash, and they burn over taxed and under paid (fed),

What starts off as a tiny thing will escalate into disease states because of a lack of magnesium.  Patients go to doctors with some very vague types of symptoms which are hurriedly remedied with out thought by the doctor with a medication of some type.  Say the patient arrives with sleep issues, the doctor prescribes a medication to help sleep come.  The missing part of the diagnosis was realizing that the sleep disturbances were highly likely to have been initiated by a severe lack of magnesium.

The foods that we eat are denatured and the water is not rich in magnesium or any of the other vital minerals for health.  The pharmaceutical companies make huge profits from people taking medications that further drive down the levels of magnesium and push the body into further and deeper ill health.  Some of which could have been totally avoided with a supplement of magnesium.

Children suffer greatly today in a society that sees no problems with giving children endless sugar in the forms of lollies, sweet drinks (even juices) and foods high in sugars because they are processed foods which are also very chemically laden with preservatives.  This is a recipe for disaster on many levels. It usually manifests itself with the person having issues in society.

The child is labelled as bad or naughty, cant sit still, has a short attention span, is easily annoyed and aggravated by tiny things with very little tolerance for work and a high degree of belligerence in attitude.   This manifests in issues with peers at school or with teachers and or parental discipline with an increasing inability to cope or adapt.  The thirst and hunger status drives this to levels where crime can also be committed due to the brain malfunctioning and not being able to think clearly.

The lists of ailments are so lengthy that respond to magnesium, I am not going to elaborate too much here as this is a story on magnesium and it is meant to drive you to look further for yourself into the 12 cell salts or minerals that are vital for life and of which magnesium is one.

I take magnesium because I get cramps sometimes in my knees, not a spasm type. It is an ache or vague feeling of uncomfortability in my leg joints.  I get tingly fingers at odd times and when I menstruated I had severe cramps (now post menopause) and as a child I did commando hits on the cupboard to heist the salt shaker and go and hide and lick salt.  (Something that got me in lots of trouble) but I was craving it and I was 2 years old or three maybe, I remember this very clearly though.

It always fascinated me that I did this salt thing.  I also craved dirt and would eat the dirty newspaper from under the lino if left unchecked.  I also remember doing this while still crawling.  This is how far back my memories reach.  I think that part is fantastic as I have many many more clear memories of me as a baby.   All of which have been checked and double checked as authentic.

A good place to start with the learning is with this article on Magnesium which I have linked HERE.
This details the explicit nature of magnesium in all of its absolute glory.  It is very well written.
Magnesium rich foods are important.  I see FOOD as MEDICINE so it is important to look at the foods with this mineral involved to help fix the body's imbalances.  Let the food to the talking I say.  Since we are an alchemical factory in our stomachs and all through our digestive system, it stands to reason that we should let the good doctor inside take the first shot at this.

Food is Medicine and Medicine is Food

Photo: Its MEDICINE ... that is what Food is. Medicine is REMEDY and all day every day we need REMEDY for what ails our bodies. Mainly this is taken care of by the autonomic nervous system. SYSTEM ... yes System (akin to the solar system) it takes care of the alchemical processes for us like the Earth rotates and we don't have to peddle to make it turn ... all we have to do is action this by motivation of spirit to partake.. When we are sore -- we look for remedy to take or rub.. When we are hungry ---> we eat. and Sometimes we crave weird things... don't be afraid of this.. it's your system discussing with you the latest and greatest invention to re-establish internal equilibrium - Instinctive eating. So Medicine is Food and Food is Medicine ... there are really no blurry areas.
    Kathy's Broccoli in Monochrome

This broccoli is a vegetable. But until you can see this as also a medicine, you are missing half of its potential.    I like to think this is what all food can be seen as.
Medicine is remedy and all day every day we need remedy for what ails our bodies and to lift us when our spirit feels it can't carry us anymore due to various burdens caused ether emotionally or physically.
As a rule, this entire process is taken care of by the autonomic nervous system which also looks after various body jobs such as  blinking and breathing and those other  other body jobs (toilet) we don't have to think too much about.
A SYSTEM ... yes system (akin to our solar system) and it takes care of all of the alchemical processes of miraculously changing this food into chemicals (medicine) for us.  It does this like the Earth rotates around the Sun and it takes place and we don't have to peddle to make it turn.

All we have to do is action this by the motivation of our spirit to partake in various foods and feed ourselves this nourishment.  When we are sore -- we look for a remedy to take or to rub onto our sore parts.  When we are hungry ---> we eat.  Being hungry is a state of un-wellness. and hunger is the sign that this needs urgent attention to correct it.   We simply need to eat food to alleviate this and correct the state of equilibrium.

Sometimes we crave weird things, don't ever be too afraid of these instincts.  I like to think it's your system discussing with you the latest and greatest recipes to re-establish internal equilibrium. This is well known as "Instinctive Eating."  Some people have been known to eat dirt because there are minerals contained therein and their bodies somehow knew this and they licked the very ground.  That shows you how the body can think for it self in these cases and lead you to exactly what you need.
So Medicine is Food and Food is Medicine.  There are no true blurry areas around this fact what so ever, in my opinion.  To call herbalism and food therapy Alternative Medicine is a heresy... it is entirely original medicine and the Pharmaceuticals are a false medicine.

This is one of those moments in history that future generations will look back on with shame, anger and utter, utter bewilderment.

IMG 3102 North Bellingen Medical Centre

We are facing a health crisis because the supermarkets are selling food that is not even food!  What the hell do they think they are doing?  Selling this crap and then selling magazines to tell you how to lose weight from eating all the unhealthy stuff you have been buying from these supermarket giants that wield trends and prices to the gate for farmers.

Largely it is all back the front and there should be food sovereignty over food in our own shires where we at least live free of restrictions etc.  There would be less trips to the doctors if we eat more from our own area's because of the resonant vibration food and us share and this is necessary for our health.

    Apple CIder Vinegar

    Vinegar / vinagre

    Vinegar / vinagre

     All you need:
    • 8 ounces hot water
    • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar (if you really like vinegar you can use 1 1/2 teaspoons)
    • 2 teaspoons honey
Mix everything and drink it down! Enjoy!

If you have any issues with your system creating too much acid and causing arthritis, a dose of Apple Cider Vinegar and water each morning has been known to help.  I have seen a definite improvement in all who have used this remedy.

6 Days out from the March Day .. paint, paint, paint.

Next Saturday 25th May 2013 there will be a march against Monsanto in Bellingen and many people are coming on board to show support.
I have been helping paint banners, this is not one I painted but it sure is an excellent job by my friend Ms Montes.
Mine is huge and not finished yet.  I must do some more work on it today when I visit it later on.   There is a meeting this evening up in Bellingen at the local Environment Centre at 6pm to do rosters and organize the volunteers who are helping with various tasks in the organisation of the March against Monsanto.

I also messaged a friend that studies ancient texts to see if he may know where the GMO crew lifted this symbol from.  What does it originally represent?    It will be a good symbol and they will pollute this by attaching it to  this.  When people see it they already do not like it and they do not know the truth.  This is how it is done.  May I remind you that the Swastika suffered the same fate as this.

Swastika It symbolizes Harmony, Lord Ganesh has it on his right hand. Differs from other uses of swastika by the four dots inside each of the four arms. Also, it is always drawn with the four inner arms at 0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees on the compass, unlike other inscriptions where the inner arms are in the form of an 'X'. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Great reasons why you should Save Seeds.

Saving Lettuce seeds are easy because they are contained in a tiny capsule below the flower when the flower dries out.

IMG 4779.1 The Bees in my Garden
    Lettuce Seeds in the making.
The most important seed saving rule is to save seeds from the best plants and to eat the rest.

"It's important to only save seed from non-hybrid plants and these are commonly referred to as heritage, old-fashioned or open pollinated plants. They are the plants most likely to produce offspring - in the form of seed - that closely resemble their parents."  Jerry Coleby-Williams

Once upon a time the Seed Tin was one of the most valuable things in the house or shed.  This held the food for the next year.

    IMG 4776 The Lettuce Flowers

Saving Seed can become addictive especially in this day and age where cheap food has done away with the need to collect seeds for food.   I find this abhorrent.  I think it is another severed connection with the planet and her vibrations.

Gardening and especially for food and medicine is what seems to come naturally to me.  I love to attempt to be self sufficient in raising my own plants from my own seed I have saved.  I truly believe you do save some money from doing this, especially if you plant those boutique plants.  Therefore,  when I hear stories of Monsanto trying to outlaw seed saving, my blood boils and then I realize getting stressed is giving them the power.

A couple of years ago I wrote a blog about making your bag of onions last forever.  CLICK HERE to go to this and read how to make your onions last forever.

Calmly we will take back the natural food of the world.  There is absolutely no need for people to be hungry in the world anywhere.  This world has been run for the profit of a small few at the burden of the people of the world.  Some benefit just enough to keep them unaware of what is going on.  Proof of this in Western society with the numbness that is apparent.

    Bananas : The Super Food

Banana's stimulate the immune system to produce various agents, including  the magical substance TNF.

According to Japanese Scientific Research, full ripe banana with dark patches on yellow skin produces a substance called TNF (Tumor Necrosis Factor) which has the ability to combat abnormal cells.

The more darker patches it has the higher will be its immunity enhancement quality; Hence, the riper the banana the better the anti-cancer quality. Yellow skin banana with dark spots on it is 8x more effective in enhancing the property of white blood cells than green skin version.

    Eating 1-2 banana/s a day increases immunity.

    IMG 8887
These are loaded with the good stuff and I grew these organic banana's

One medium-sized (around 126 grams) banana contains:
    • Vitamin B6 (.5 mg)
    • Manganese (.3 mg)
    • Vitamin C (9 mg)
    • Potassium (450 mg)
    • Dietary Fiber (3g)
    • Protein (1 g)
    • Magnesium (34 mg)
    • Folate (25.0 mcg)
    • Riboflavin (.1 mg)
    • Niacin (.8 mg)
    • Vitamin A (81 IU)
    • Iron (.3 mg)
The reason potassium is singled-out among all the other things in the banana is because that 450 mg of potassium in a single banana is actually more than 10% (more precisely, around 13%) of the adult human body's minimum daily requirement of potassium. It's unusual (though not unheard of, of course) for a single serving of any fruit to provide quite so much of any one nutrient like that. Nutritionists, then, sometime refer to a banana as a "super fruit," because of its inordinate provision of so much of the minimum daily adult requirement of the single nutrient potassium.

    Hoax or Fact?  Fact!
Please pass on and share and stay healthy.

"I'm getting so old, I don't even buy green bananas anymore." - Chi Chi Rodriguez -

Lowering the glucose value in the blood is one of the healing effects of the banana.

Eating one or two pieces of banana will regain your stamina and contribute to your recovery from fatigue rapidly after finishing your daily hard work, or work out if your are an athlete.

I am a grandmother of sorts, my banana tree is having a bunch.

    The Morgo Bunch
This has been slowly taking place over the last couple of weeks, I was so impressed!  I was even more impressed to find this interesting story about Doubting Banana's and the obvious lack of common sense in the world.  One of my favorite subjects,  the lack of common sense.  I used to say they would have to teach it in schools soon as a subject to pass.  We are almost there at that point now in life.
And please read on, as  this is a great read.

    DOUBTING BANANA"S

People always seem to need evidence. Like Doubting Thomas, they won’t BELIEVE anything unless they see it with their own two eyes. And worse, even if they see something, they still find so many excuses not to believe. They seek more and more evidence until they can finally support their stand of NOT BELIEVING.

For example, a person may see a yellow object, long and curved, a bit pointed at the end, fleshy and looks like fruit. In fact, it looks like a BANANA! Then a monkey appears and sees the object, smells it, peels it and eats half of it. The person cries, “Boy, it sure looks like a banana.” Then I tell that person that it was indeed a banana.

The person frowns and tells you, well you know, a monkey is still a monkey, suppose that the monkey was fooled? WHAT?! This person sees a banana, sees a monkey eat that banana and still doesn’t believe. So you both steal that banana from the poor monkey and have it inspected by a scientist, not just an ordinary scientist, but a BANANA EXPERT. The expert confirms that it was indeed a banana.

But Doubting Thomas still wasn’t satisfied. What if the expert was just mistaken? Was he really an expert of BANANACOLOGY? So you both investigate his credentials and certificates from schools he graduated from. They were authentic. But wait a minute! What if that school was releasing these certificates without quality education? And then, what if the theories from previous scientists taught have all been errors? Could it still be banana?

The argument can go on and on, doubting this and doubting that. Woe to the person who allows himself to be victimized by DOUBTING BANANAS! When is his doubt going to be satisfied? In my own area of expertise, I’ve met auditors who act just like that, never being satisfied even if a concrete evidence is presented infront of their faces. There are also bosses like that. They in turn doubt their auditors.

I’m not saying that we shouldn’t ask for evidences and that we shouldn’t verify things. What I’m saying is that we should know when to stop our investigations before we all act like fools. But how? COMMONSENSE. Something that’s very uncommon nowadays.

In a time where we rely upon so many manuals and experts, we’ve started to lose our own minds and our own powers to understand. We’ve lost our commonsense and became doubting bananas, paranoid people who can’t ever be satisfied.

Don’t be a banana. Nurture your mind. In the end, maybe it won’t matter anyway what fruit the monkey ate. So what if it’s not a banana after all?
