What is behind the closing down of Sydney

IMG 5654 Sydney City Traffic

"Would the last person in Sydney please turn the lights out" is a great piece of research by Matt Barrie about the NSW Governments Lock Out Policy.
Ruled by a succession of incompetent governments, everything in Sydney is now illegal- including fun.
This half witted ill thought through policy  has sent just about everyone in the entertainment and liquor business broke.

Shooter 15 years old @ Parramatta, Sydney.

The gunman who shot dead a police staffer was a 15-year-old who had visited Parramatta Mosque on his way to commit murder, the Daily Telegraph is reporting.

To have used the *PORS Squad on grandmothers at Glenugie (near Grafton NSW) when we have issues brewing like above and then to have the audacity to heap environmental activism in with Terrorism and people like the above once again is ludicrous.

IMG 8067.4 Glenugie's Black Monday
At Glenugie.
Above is a picture of a cop at Glenugie.  He was one of many that were used to set upon a peaceful group of people trying to protect their land and water from environmental terrorism committed by Coal Seam Gas Companies who lie through their teeth about the detrimental effects to the water table and to the land surrounding the well head.

I believe the Police Minister has to get his priorities right, and the absolute nature of the tragedy of the shooting at Parramatta shows that police are being used for the wrong purpose.  The ability for these bully boy Mining Companies to be able to call up the Police Minister and have every high level cop holding down old ladies, grinding their faces in the bitumen, all the while using force upon people who are not resisting is sheer madness.  It has to stop.

No one would know whether or not these environmental groups have been infiltrated by Islamic extremists to know when the *PORS will be drawn away to a Mining incident at the whim of a mining company, and then.... they commit their terrorist act.

I am sure they have thought of is while watching the elite police being used in such a manner so often that it is the norm.

Stand Up strong against the Corrupt Recognise Campaign.

It is not time to RECOGNISE Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia’s already illegal Constitution document. This RECOGNISE document will ensure there are more places for racial discrimination than ever before. It is the wrong thing to do.

Today......

Today, at 8:30am the park next to the Museum of Contemporary Art at Circular Quay in Sydney City is the meeting place for people who are gathering to walk the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge in protest to the secret government meeting to be held today at the Prime Ministers Sydney Home, Kirrabilli House.

I am very aware and I realize up front that this protest action is difficult for some to understand given it all sounds so good on paper.  This is no mistake, and of course the government advisers have worded it wonderfully.  This is done so the sheeple just vote it in and the (government) dirty work is done.

This type of legislation will acquiesce all future rights to sovereignty for the first people of this land.  On this land the indigenous people have never given their blessing to the English.  There was no treaty.  The English broke all their own laws and stole the land with no conscience and the fight still rages some 250 years later.

The government still to this day have not given up with the sneaky tactics to unhitch the people from this great land here down under,  This latest escapade to steal the last of the last is just as sneaky as it always has been.

The "Recognise" referendum will come up in 2017 and this must be voted down.  The answer must be a resounding No Vote.   Become a "Recognise Buster".  If you see this logo, download it and use it to spread the word on the truth of this upcoming referendum.

This has to be sorted in truth or this country is doomed to await the Ragnarok period and the great cleansing and the hope to all go home.  The way things are being played out it is clear the government are using over arching psychological tools to distort the views of the masses.  The use of key well known aboriginal figures to convince the whiteys to vote yes on this is a low act.

Many know these well known black fellahs as the Sell Out Blacks or as my Gomeroi friend calls them, the Chardonay Blacks.

The group of twenty people above are not qualified to speak for the 87% of black fellahs who don't want this to go ahead.  They are as follows:
Co Chairs - Mark Leibler, Pat Dodson
Non Parlimentary Members - Alison Page, Bill Lawson, Fred Chaney, Glenn Ferguson, Graham Bradley, Henry Burmester, Josephine Bourne, Lauren Ganley, Marcia Langton, Megan Davidson, Noel Pearson, Sam Jefferies, Timmy 'Djawa' Burarrwanga.
Parlimentary Members - Janelle Safin, Ken Wyatt, Rachel Siewert, Rob Oakeshott.

AGL mining for Coal Seam Gas under Sydney homes.

And, who knew. Least of all the residents who were being effected. Reports of nose bleeds here should be taken very seriously and I hope the chap filmed watches some of Brian Monk's videos regarding rashes and nose bleeds suspected to be caused from stray gas.

Yes, we are all choking on your Gas AGL and the old proverbial Spin / lies proffered up by yourselves and other corporations so they can fully fool ordinary people to believe they are doing the right thing by us!

Sydney was in 'Lockdown' while the rest of the country took "Siege Breaks."

Sweet temptation. I can't decide if it's bette...
Sweet temptation. I can't decide if it's better On White or On Black . (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Siege Breaks are breaks the television uses to play advertising material shoving the corporate agenda into your face as many times as possible during which time several people were alledged to be held hostage by a lone gunman in Martin Place in Sydney's CBD.    The media dubbed him a "Lone Wolf" Gunman.  I found this an interesting twist to use the name of a notorious bike club.   Was this to elicit emotion?

So these were re-named "Siege Breaks" instead of "Commercial Breaks".  That's commercial television, never missing an opportunity to sell something or convince the general public of things to which previous they had no idea

Yesterday morning at 9:36AM, Bruno a city cafe worker attempted to open the doors of Lindt, his workplace but the doors were locked and the gunman was alleged to be already inside.  Bruno spoke extensively about the situation on camera and kept the drama going while media used same footage over and over. Hanging in the window was a flag that was said to say

"There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of God".

Some reported the flag was an ISIS flag but this was found to be incorrect as this flag is what Islamist people call the Black Standard.  It is the flag of Jhad from what I can ascertain from reading about it.  On the Black Standard were printed these words in Islam.
" لا إله إلا الله وأن محمدا رسول الله"

Bruno said a lot of things that made nonsense.  He said he saw a man with a hat and beard and then he said he saw nothing and then he said it was too dark inside the cafe to see anything. I suppose it could be passed off as an anxiety type reaction to the situation.

Then there was the lady from her workplace on the floor above the cafe in the Lindt building.  She said she may have had a friend working inside the Lindt Shop at the time of the siege.   Later, this lady confirmed live to air that her friend was on leave.  Friends who work close to each other usually know about taking holidays.  That didn't sound right to me.

She managed to cry for the camera and sniffled and wiped tears I couldn't see from her eyes and cheeks where clearly there were no tears.

All of this puzzled me.  Over studying perhaps, but listening to the media and even the names were more than I could deal with.  One chap was called Josh Actin, another reporter was called Rachel Puppetzoni.  Was it just a coincidence these people had such aptronym names.

In the beginning media were all over the situation.  They were over it before the NSW Police even took it serious.  The media were getting calls and were taking pictures.  The gunman allowed the hostages to call Ray Hadlee at 2GB and he was a conduit for Police for a while during the earlier part of the Martin Place siege in the Lindt Cafe.

2GB Radio broadcaster Ray Hadley said he had spoken on the phone to hostages being held inside the Lindt  Cafe in Sydney's Martin Place.

Ray Hadley

Ray Hadley then said live to air from the 2GB Sydney studios the hostage he spoke to was "remarkably calm" during the phone conversation where he was relaying the information from the gunman to him at around 1.00pm on Monday afternoon.  This was just over four hours into the hostage situation.

Hadley said he could hear the gunman talking in the background during the phone conversation.
The gunman wanted the hostage to speak live on radio.  This is considered a common thing with Islamic terrorist / hostage situations.  Media attention. Hadley and Scipione the NSW Police Commissioner both agreed  in another telephone conversation that this type of demand was not going to be met by him or any of his colleagues. Its not how its done in Australia??
Read More about what they had to say here at The Age

Police Commisioner
So that is the story the Australian people were spoon fed (informed) all day yesterday via all of the "free to air" television networks.  Radio was a little different, but television was all over this story replaying and playing up the details.

The Police Commissioner addressed the nation, the NSW Premier Mike Beard addressed the nation, the Prime Minister addressed the nation.  Various people were flown back to the country from destinations across the world because it was considered important they also be here in the country for this hostage event.

All the players in Government
This hostage situation was a convenient distraction for the Australian people and for the Federal Government who were about to deliver the most horrendous budget update (MID YEAR ECONOMIC and Fiscal UPDATE ) that has been seen in the history of government in this country.  It's all contained too. Police continually referred to the lock-down situation with the hostages as "contained" also

The internet was a frenzy with everyone's take on the situation, and some were saying too many of the events were not fitting together sensibly.  Of course drawing these conclusions from an already flawed media is probably doomed to failure.   But that's what the Australian people had.

These are fair questions for the people who believe the media documentation of events are absolutely true to every detail.  These are fair questions when you yourself have been in front of the courts for a benign trumped up charge and the judge threatens to throw the book at you. All you did was ring up your ex husband.

Its hardly a lawful comparison, when you see the Planning and Assessment Commission are blatantly being reckless with the Australian environment which is criminal, and PAC get away with it.  The absolute madness of passing projects that will damage everyone for a long time and nothing happens. My crime is ringing up and the full weight of the law was threatened upon my head.  See what I mean.

By the time late afternoon had rolled around, five hostages had allegedly freed themselves and escaped.  The nation according to media, gave thanks for this.  Five people out of the picture and no longer witnesses to what transpired inside the Lindt Cafe after they got out.

Perhaps these people were not part of the plan and were accidentally caught up in the drama. Maybe they think they escaped, perhaps it was set up this way so they would escape - after all who wouldn't if there was any opportunity.  All of this could have been prearranged... years ago is even a  possibility.

We all went to bed with these thoughts and suspicions regarding the Sydney Siege  So the hostage situation was on going.  At around 2.00am this all changed.
Loud explosions and yelling could be heard from outside the Lindt Chocolate Cafe in Sydney's Martin Place when armed police stormed the building about 2.00am (AEDT) reported by the  ABC.
Live Footage of this can be seen here :  http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-12-16/sydney-siege-climax/5969376

The name of the lone gunman in the cafe was Man Haron Monis.
He is an Iranian cleric.  This is the part that was hard to take - he was  on bail for a string of over 40 violent offenses. Some rape and one where his wife was killed and this mans girlfriend was implicated.

So this man was big character.  A very big character.  Many people are now saying today, how could someone who had this sort of history even be out on bail?  There was some mention of this regarding it not being covered yet by legislation which all sounded really unfounded.

Man Haron Monis for all intents and purposes appears to be the epitome of all of our worst nightmares, a terrorist Muslim Islamic extremist with several wives who had clocked up a string of violent charges since supposedly arriving in the country in 1996.

To most peoples astonishment this nightmare was out on bail and free.   This part is very difficult to digest as even sensible.  This is another reason that has made people suspicious these were not all crisis actors in fact.

Yes it was just as hard to take to day when the situation resulted in deaths  So all the laws didn't matter because this person was clearly not stopping with the violent crimes no matter how many books could have been pelted at him.

This is all based on the information we the general public are given to make a personal judgement and digest what happened regarding the situation that allegedly occurred in Martin Place.  It would be good to remember this unfolded on television for 99% of the population.  It was like he was some sort of Islamic superman who had committed every atrocity in the book since arriving here in 1996.  Well known to Police this Man Haron Monis was.

Its funny because to speak out against any of this  would be seen by those with straight opinions that I was not respecting the families of those that died.  Society is set up this way,  and of course this is not my intention.  But there are so many angles to this that seemingly are choreographed.

I would like to introduce the subject of  "Crisis Actors". A strange concept to some, absolutely unbelievable to others and feasible and provable to yet still  others.  Crisis Actors are what were used in various terror attacks noted around the western world perpetrated by the Islamic Nation.

This is the description of crisis actors given by Vision Box Studios.

The Crisis Actors are specially trained actors who help first responders handle emergency situations in schools and public environments by creating realistic drills, full-scale exercises, high-fidelity simulations, and interactive 3D films. We are looking for actors of all ages, types, and ethnicity, with background in classical and contemporary theatre, who are passionate about technique and craft while also having an interest in work of social relevance. Crisis Actors are paid per performance project, live or filmed, and are also required to participate in different kinds of training that will be discussed at the audition.

Its such a giant leap for the people who have emphatically trusted in the flawed system.

These are the people who still believe this will all be sorted out with the two major party system continuing the way it always has done like it is the main course  of some phantom dinner party because having the Greens Party would be like an entree, and the independents of the nations are the nuts, that is if all this were a feast.

Read this Blog about CRISIS ACTORS busted in SYDNEY

There are various pleas of sadness and pictures to be found at this following News LINK link if you want to go and look at some of the statements written because they look so sterile and feel that way also.

I did have a couple of questions.  How long do people go undercover for?  Do people go undercover for many years? These are things I have wondered.

The Royal Commission - Abuse in Church based Care

I traveled to Sydney alone, to the city to share my story to the commission.  I was so pleased to be able to tell someone who actually seemed like they really cared about this.  From childhood I was used to being left out of the processes of life.  Other peoples issues although they always seemingly paled in significance to what I was experiencing seemed to always take precedence so I was used to feeling like no one cared anymore.   My children made fun of my abuse and my ex-husband encouraged their behavior by not standing up to the rubbish they proffered and making a proper difference.

Whilst I was in Sydney giving evidence at the Royal Commission I stayed at the Menzies Hotel opposite Wynyard Station and I have to say this hotel was wonderful.  The service was magnificent and the staff were very friendly and helpful and the beds were very comfortable and large.

Last Day of Autumn and its hot.

Its the end of Autumn and there is a strange warmth in the air everywhere I have been people have been saying the plants are confused and so are the insects confused.  This isn't hard to believe because its been upwards of 30 Degrees and that is very warm for the middle of the year heading into Winter.

IMG 8814 Sorry Day Action
A very warm Sydney.

Sydney has experienced  16 days above 22C, which is highly unusual for May.
The May mean maximum temperature is 23.3C - 3.9C above what Sydney usually experiences at this time of year.

Retail outlets selling winter clothing items and electrical outlets who sell heaters and other devices for warming are all suffering large downturns in profits and will have to discount stock dramatically to recoup some money back.

Recently I travelled to Sydney and usually at this time it is very chilly and as it turned out for me it was very very warm and I had only winter cloths with me on my journey.  Very inconvenient weather I have to say.

ACT UP for BENTLEY BLOCKADE - Please Share this.

*PLEASE SHARE*

Facebook - Radha Sharon Wikinson
PHONE N.S.W. PREMIER & POLICE MINISTER TODAY: "SAY NO TO FORCE ON BENTLEY"

Police are expected in large numbers to the Bentley Blockade protectors site near Lismore, where the community are opposing gas drilling by Metgasco in the Northern Rivers.
The date of the 19th May has been confirmed for up to 900 riot police.
The community believe this to be both unnecessary and an absolute breach of their democratic right to express their dissent to this industry and that the Government has not heard nor acted on the communities overwhelming statement of being a gasfield free community of which 98.6% have voted against gasfields in the region.

The Northern Rivers call on people everywhere, and particularly here in the cities to support their opposition to this industry and demand that the call for police presence cease as it is a breach on their local communities' (and the people of NSW) democratic rights. This level of force is dangerous and unnecessary to a community which is engaging in peaceful and non violent direct action to protect the site.

TODAY (WEDNESDAY) IS A GOOD TIME TO CONTACT “STUART AYRES” AS IT IS HIS FIRST DAY ON THE JOB AS MINISTER FOR POLICE AND ALSO BENTLEY FARMERS ARE IN SYDNEY TO SPEAK TO MINISTERS IN PARLIAMENT HOUSE ABOUT THE MATTER.

Please badger every day in every way for the coming weeks...

POINTS TO MAKE

  • - Request the Government cancel sending in riot squad and police presence and make clear to them that they should enable the community, who are wholly opposed to this industry, to peacefully assemble and exercise their right to object to Metgasco's gasfield exploration plans at the site.
  • - Request that the Government immediately freeze the licence and exploration activity and review the situation, and that based on the fact that the community are unequivocally opposed to the exploration of unconventional gas by Metgasco (98.6% say NO) that the exploration be cancelled to reflect democratic process, and the Petroleum exploration licence be revoked by the NSW Govt. as the gas company have “no social licence”.

Dear Madam
STATEMENTS BY JOHN ROSS RECORDED AT AGL ON 3 OCTOBER 2013

INTRODUCTION
This letter addresses two sets of statements by Mr John Ross at the AGL offices in

Sydney on 3 October 2013 recorded and available to the public on the Internet:
)

IMG 4440
AGL GLOUCESTER OFFICE
1. PRODUCED WATER IS SAME AS THE NATURAL PROCESS

The first set of statements claims that the groundwater at coal seam level in the Gloucester Basin all reports to the Avon River, so that bringing it to the surface as Produced Water from CSG bores is no different to the natural process.

To examine this statement recourse is made to the Parsons Brinkerhoff Groundwater Report (PB) of January 2012

.Parsons Brinkerhoff provides the following facts:
1. The groundwater in the young, alluvial deposits in the valley is sub-modern”.  Meaning it is between 50 and less than 1000 years old.
2. The groundwater in the fractured rock above the coal seams is between 4000 and 19000 years old.
3. The groundwater in the coal seams is between 9600 and 21600 years old.
4.  “Groundwater discharge from the alluvium is primarily to the rivers as baseflow, and during the monitoring period the following salinity ranges observed: TSW01 – 25.7 to 753.5 μS/cm ASW01 – 20.2 to 774.4 μS/cm ASW02 – 93.8 to 301.9 μS/cm.”
5. “The low permeability inter burden units are locally saturated, but generally act  as confining layers between and overlying the coal seams. The layered aquitards of the inter burden units create separate and distinct groundwater systems with no connection evident between the deeper coal seam water bearing zones
and the shallow rock and alluvial aquifers.
Contrast the above with the fact that a 1000m deep CSG bore will bring 10000 to 20000 year old   Produced Water to the surface in a matter of weeks, and according to the PB report that water would have a Total Dissolved Solids of about 3000milligrams per litre (conductivity of 3000 to 5000μS/cm) - i.e. about 10 to 100 times higher than the typical Avon water. In particular that water would have a high bicarbonate content which recent work at The University of Technology in Sydney has shown is significantly more toxic to river critters than are chlorides.

Therefore it is considered that it is misleading for AGL to claim that the Produced Water just mimics normal processes.

2..SALINITY

John Ross is recorded as saying that the Produced Water from The AGL wells at Gloucester will bring less salt to the surface than natural rainfall over 10 square
kilometres.

The facts are as follows:

According to published research by the CSIRO the chlorides deposited through rainfall diminishes rapidly with distance from the coast, and at Gloucester it can be expected that the deposition rate could be about 15kg per Hectare (10000 sq. metres) per annum. Therefore for 10 square km we would have 10*100*15= 15000 kg per annum (or 15 tonne). In this regard it should be noted that there are no data specific to the Gloucester-Stroud-Barrington area.

At this time there is no way of knowing how much Produced Water will come from the Stage 1 wells at Gloucester. We know that as of 2101 AGL had 56 million litres stored on site1, containing about 168 tonnes of dissolved solids (chlorides and bicarbonates).

We don’t know over what period this water was produced, but think it was about 3 years (giving 56 tonne per annum, or about 4 times John Ross’s 15 tonne.  We also don’t know what will be the annual Produced Water from the more than 100 Stage 1 production wells –but it is reasonable to assume that each well will produce between 2 to 5 litre per second.  If we adopt a value of 3 litres per second then each well will produce about: •3*3600*24*365 *32= 284 tonne of salt per year.

In order for John Ross’s claim to be true AGL would have to have only 1 CSG bore every 10 sq. km, with each bore yielding less than 0.16 litre per second of produced water.  This seems highly unrealistic to say the least.

Again, it can only be concluded that this statement by John Ross on behalf of AGL is misleading.

1. Parsons Brinkerhoff, Jan 2012  2 (litres per second)*(seconds in an hour)*(hours in a day)*(days in a year)*(gram of salt per litre), with PB measurements giving about 3 gram per litre in the coal seam water.

How safe is anything anymore?

A leading geologist is warning that BHP's long-wall mines are damaging Sydney's water catchment zones reducing the drinking water available for nearly a million people.

"Ice on the Dune" ~ Empire of the Sun's New Album

Luke Steel and Nick Littlemore are Empire of the Sun. The duo from Australia delivered an album premiere of epic proportions in the Concert Hall at the Opera House on the 30th of May last month.

IMG1478 More Gold on the Ceiling

Luke who appears to be the front man to this duo described the title track as being “about how the Emperor’s head-dress is stolen by The King Of Shadows and the emperor and his priestesses travel throughout the world through all the heathen towns.  While the head dress is missing this is bringing chaos to the world”.

Vivid LIVE @ Sydney Opera House
Vivid LIVE @ Sydney Opera House (Photo credit: s13_eisbaer)
I loved their first album, Walking on a Dream so much.  We played and played this. I have songs from that album down in my top 1OO   I call Melonpop Drives Top 100 songs of forever, thats how good I thought it was.  So Ice on the Dune has big shoes to fit into to follow that up.

The emperor and his priestesses going around the world through all the heathen towns ..  yes it is like this.  I see so much more in their costumes and in their music.  To me it is like the know the secrets of the universe because their lyrical content tells me clearly they do.

The sun is our life giver and our sustainer and these guys understand where we are going on this journey we all call life.   Ice on the Dune conjures up a lot of symbology once again.  I love the entire album.

I look forward  to hearing some tracks off the third album that is already in the pipeline.  "When that creative spark is sparking we need to keep that sort of momentum going", said Luke.  Its a pendulum effect once again because I agree, momentum is good.   I guess saying your third album is going to be awesome when the vinyl is still wet from the second album released two weeks ago at the Opera House Great Hall is a big call.  A call I don't think I will be disappointed with.  Quite frankly these guys could sing three blind mice and it would still come out all esoteric and magical.

BATMANS TREATY 6th June 1835

John Batman's Treaty was a deal done with gentleman in a gentlemanly manner. This is clearly the point where the English over stepped their mark and it is a clear case of corrupt law brought down upon the people of this land.
I would seek that the Court of Australia now seek to recognise John Batman's Treaty and compensate the people for the loss of their culture and of their ancestors in such a corrupt and unjust manner. The crown should be made accountable for this.

On 6 June 1835 John Batman met with eight elders of the Wurundjeri people including Bebejan and Billibellary, the traditional owners of the lands around the Yarra River.

The meeting took place on the bank of a small stream, likely to be the Merri Creek and treaty documents were signed along with exchanges of goods by both sides.  For a purchase price including tomahawks, knives, scissors, flannel jackets, red shirts and a yearly tribute of similar items, Batman obtained about 200,000 hectares (2,000 square km) around the Yarra River and Corio Bay.

The total value of the goods has been estimated at about GBP100 in the value of the day. In return the Woiwurrung offered woven baskets of examples of their weaponry and two Possum-skin cloaks, a highly treasured item.

After the treaty signing, a celebration took place with the Parramatta aborigines with Batman's party dancing a corroboree.

The Treaty

The treaty was significant as it was the first and only documented time when European settlers negotiated their presence and occupation of aboriginal lands.

The Theft

The Treaty was immediately repudiated by the colonial government in Sydney.

The 1835 proclamation by Governor Richard Bourke implemented the doctrine of "terra nullius" upon which British settlement was based, reinforcing the concept that there was no land owner prior to British possession and that Aboriginal people could not sell or assign the land, and individuals could only acquire it through distribution by the Crown.

Rainbow crossings take over Australia in response to the removal of the Rainbow Crossing at Taylor Square in Sydney NSW.  This craze has spread to France and a couple of other countries on the other side of the globe.  There is a Facebook page for the event  DIY RAINBOW CROSSINGS.

Oxford Street's rainbow crossing, designed to mark 35 years of Sydney's Mardi Gras, has been ripped up by the state government following a stand-off with the city council.
The crossing was removed late on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
The City of Sydney Council was responsible for removing the crossing, but Lord Mayor Clover Moore, wrote to Roads Minister Duncan Gay late on Friday demanding he explain why he thought it necessary to rip the crossing up.
Instead of replying, Mr Gay instructed his department Roads and Maritime Services to bypass the council and rip the crossing up on Wednesday night.

Mr Gay said the crossing needed to be removed because of safety concerns cited by an audit commissioned by the City of Sydney. That audit documented people getting drunk and laying on the crossing.
But the audit also said any safety risk at the crossing could be managed by a night-time police or council warden presence.

The City of Sydney won approval for the crossing as a one-month trial, which has ended, but wanted to make it permanent due to it's popularity and the $30,000 cost of removing it.
In a release, Mr Gay said: "The crossing was not removed as planned leaving me with no option but to act in the interests of pedestrian and road safety and direct RMS to carry out the removal."
“I want to make this very clear, this trial crossing was a goodwill gesture extended to Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Community to honour the 35th anniversary of Mardi Gras," he said.
“This is a matter of road and pedestrian safety which has no association whatsoever with my respect for the history and community of Oxford Street."
Independent MP for Sydney Alex Greenwich said one of the workers had told him that they had been told the project was an "emergency" and that they had been diverted from other roadworks in Ultimo.
"I think the Premier needs to apologise to the gay and lesbian community," Mr Greenwich said.
Michael Prosser, drinking at a nearby bar, said he was saddened by the move. "It keeps a bit of gay on Oxford Street," he said.
