PRINCE dead at 57
This year has been crazy for losing musicians. We all die but it is like the cream of the crop is kicking it at the same time. Its true, its been one after another and sometimes two a day.
Prince was a legend. A Gemini. That explains so much of his multiple talents in the communication arena and the acting and music arena. He was a dilettante with immense talent.
The entire world is in mourning again. The loss of Prince Rogers Nelson will leave a huge gap in the music industry. Presently I am listening to a tribute show being played by Miff Warhurst on Double J radio. Its really beautiful and I would say this is happening all over the world right now as I type.
Here is When Doves Cry...... one of my old favorites. Prince did things in the 70's and 80's that people are only just coming to now. He was most definitely a unique soul. I hope his soul is flying!

Glen Frey of the Eagles passes ... its a bit of a shock.
Glenn Frey has passed away at 67 just 8 days after David Bowie. It is a bit of a shock to me because I am still reeling that our Bowie has left the planet so early as well.
Glenn
Lewis Frey was an American singer, songwriter, producer and actor, best
known as a founding member of rock band the Eagles. During the 1970s,
Frey played guitar with the band, as well as piano and keyboards. Wikipedia
He Died: January 18, 2016, at New York City, New York, United States
I have a great love for all of the Eagles music and I especially love the 1976 epic Hotel California album It gave me the smell of moving to the coast and move to the coast is what I did. Thanks for that.
I pay tribute to this great musician who has played a huge role in the music of my life and for that I say thank you. Good bye Glen .. you and David hurry back now.

Sorrow ... David Bowie passed away today.
Ziggy played his last guitar in this life on this day 10th of January 2016. David Bowie was one of the most extraordinary artists of our modern era. His memory will live on because he was legendary in all that he did.
I grew up listening to David Bowie and remember how excited I was when I purchased Alladin Sane on vinyl all of those years ago.
The world is in mourning at the loss of such a loved person who was not old when he passed away from Cancer, he was only 69 years old. Bowie had so much more to give but he obviously knew and had succumbed to the journey of death.
His final album "Blackstar" is the twenty-fifth and final studio album by English musician David Bowie. It was released worldwide through Bowie's ISO Records label on 8 January 2016, Bowie's 69th birthday and two days ago just before his death.
Lots are saying there is an occulted message in this album. Some are saying there is a message to the world from him about what the illuminati are up to. Others say it heralds the coming of Nirbiru. What ever people think it won't be overshadowed by the the incredulous final good bye from David Bowie - like he was saying good bye to all of us. Go swiftly David .... your soul is needed back here fast. You have shown how much you have learned and adapted to the challenges your life presented and how you changed this around and began to understand the Alchemy of change and how that is good for the soul.
I would like to think he was taken early because he already knew and his soul is need back here on Earth to help us usher in the new time we are going to be living through here on our tiny planet when everything changes very very quickly. So go swiftly you awesome person - you have done well.

CHRIS FISHER - Musician, Song Writer , Earth Warrior and Troubadour of the Planet
Recently a musician friend of mine introduced me to Chris Fisher from the Northern Rivers. I was already interested if Matthew thinks his work is great stuff because his standards are awesome. He also appears on Songs from Bentley and therefore the man has a heart and a brain and he has not been persuaded by the establishment elite.
I received a package in the mail of four CD's for Melonpop Drive (my radio show) Melonpop Drive / 2bbb Community Radio. Live streaming HERE
The Album Blurb is a great description of the music so far .... Chris is standing up for the Mother and we salute him for this. The Earth is smiling when he starts to serenade her.
All About Chris Fisher and his work taken from his FACEBOOK PAGE - Chris Fisher
Performance highlights include gigs at Australia's major festivals including Woodford, Port Fairy and Nation Folk Festivals, the Gympy Country Music Muster and two grand final appearances in the coveted ‘Star Maker’ quest at Tamworth's Country Music Festival.
An engaging entertainer and maturing artist who has been singing up respect for our mother earth and her peoples and the need for action to look after our environment for 20 years.
Fisher studied ecology and environmental management at James Cook University in Nth Queensland and was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in 1988. Later studies included Contemporary music and Indigenous Australian history and issues at Southern Cross University.
Currently Chris is completing a Masters degree which draws on both his scientific and artistic experience. His work promotes the values and use of song in developing methodologies for Qualitative Inquiry.
Chris Fisher’s lyrics and message speak to and reflect the hearts and minds of many peoples, the rhythm of song moving beneath any cultural and language barrier, allowing a common celebration in hearing this critical, passionate and positive voice in the chorus for a better future.

NO FRACKING WAY - The video by Aussies Against Fracking
This awesome song "No Fracking Way" was written, arranged, produced and performed by Leo Sayer (published by Silverbird Songs Ltd)
Leo Sayer and a cast of pure gold music legends have lined up to help us fight the fracc industry here in Australia.
Leo Sayer had a hit with I feel Like Dancing in the early 1980's, and the Gatton Star paper reported:
COAL seam gas drilling obviously doesn't make English-born pop star Leo Sayer feel like dancing. There are so many people in this video that I recognize both from protecting and my many nights in front of the stage at bands over the years.
More info
The song is about getting people interested and involved in the fight against the coal seam gas industry. Lots got a guernsey in the video with The Knitting Nannas Against Gas, The Girls Against Gas, well known Nimbin-based protester Benny Zable and Jarmbi and Drew Hutton from LTG, all of these featured on the footage of this song. There are scenes from protests in the northern Rivers and Tara and other actions against Coal Seam Gas Mining.

The song "No Fracking Way", was recorded by Leo at Silverbird Studios. John Hudson mixed the track, and Paul Berton played Guitar.
Aussies against Fracking are a group of anti - Csg musicians who support Lock the Gate and their ideals and this song is a gift to the movement. These days Leo Sayer is an Aussie boy, doin it the Straya way now. Massive thanks to him and all who contributed in any way either great or small, this was perfect timing in my opinion.
The line up for the video is also a who's who of classic Australian Rock. The likes of Doc Neeson from the Angels, Deni Hines, Kevin Borich, Casey Burgess, Mitch Anderson, Mark Gable, Jeff Duff, Steve Balbi from Noisworks and Mi Sex, Jade Hurley, Connor Cleary, Alex Gibson, Graham Wilson and Jarmb-Ji Githabul.
The featured singers, musicians and choir were filmed and recorded at Pow Wow Studios, Sydney.
The Sound recording was done by Des O'Neill, and special thanks to Chris Fitz-Gibbon. The Production was handled by Annie Wright for Aussies Against Fracking. With special thanks to Nick Hanlon.
For More information on all of this please go to: "http://www.lockthegate.org.au/"
Since this song was released, I have played it on the Melonpop Drive Show on 2bbb Radio and I dare say 2014 with see it played weekly from here on in.

For the full story on the Csg horror at Tara Queensland start by reading this article in THE CHRONICLE.
Then do some follow up research by going to YouTube and keying in Tara Csg (Coal Seam Gas). This will show you la selection of videos uploaded by land owners themselves. The true stories, not the polished lies put on your television sets in a specially produced advertisement to entice you to think otherwise.
This is a national shame and it cannot be hidden any longer. So, do yourself and your family a favor and take the time to see what this is really about from the people it is effecting most - Australian Farmers, that is a good place to start.
There are many more harrowing effects and I am in no way diminishing this point. There are huge concerns for indigenous sacred places that are being bulldozed as well as cultural heritage areas including Cobb and Co station houses etc from the early 1800's. Of course our greatest unseen harm is being caused to the Artesian waters under our lands.
The farmers however, are the ones who are providing Australia with food. Somehow our governments have forgotten this fact. Or do they have another dirty card up their filthy sleeve. The N.T. Card is what I should call this.
We need food in Australia and they think they are going to turn the NT into a food bowl of Asia. There is a plan to grow GMO crops watered with used mining water in the dry Northern Territory of Australia's top end. Then they plan to sell this produce to the Asians. Asians beware in the future, I would not want to eat that food and I largely suspect that you may not either.
We have to save our farming land, for a start it was bad enough that farmers did not respect the indigenous peoples when they took up farming, however farming largely does not desecrate the land in the manner that these mining companies are. Yes there was damage to sites etc, but the damage to the whole earth is occurring with this and its has to be stopped.
