PRINCE dead at 57

Prince at Coachella 001

This year has been crazy for losing musicians.  We all die but it is like the cream of the crop is kicking it at the same time.  Its true, its been one after another and sometimes two a day.

Prince was a legend.  A Gemini.  That explains so much of his multiple talents in the communication arena and the acting and music arena.  He was a dilettante with immense talent.

The entire world is in mourning again.  The loss of Prince Rogers Nelson will leave a huge gap in the music industry.  Presently I am listening to a tribute show being played by Miff Warhurst on Double J radio.  Its really beautiful and I would say this is happening all over the world right now as I type.

Here is When Doves Cry......  one of my old favorites.   Prince did things in the 70's and 80's that people are only just coming to now.  He was most definitely a unique soul.  I hope his soul is flying!

Simon Passed Away . . . Swift Journey Home old friend..

Simon Eckersley ... a very colourful character indeed. He was a well known millionaire who lived across the road from our old house in Urunga in Morgo Street overlooking the ocean.   Simon loved to party and he lived a full life.  He ate good food and probably that is what preserved him this long while he carried on a very flamboyant lifestyle of partying and good times, music and friends.

He will be sadly missed from the area that is for sure.  A night out won't be the same with out Simon popping up in one of his outrageous outfits.  He was definitely a good fun person.

I hope his journey home to the Infinite is swift and full of light.  Good bye for now Simon  xxx

Forever Young was played to mark the start of the service. This set the scene for an emotional service for everyone there and all those who love the game of cricket.  This is history because no one has ever died from playing before.

Shane Warne's tribute.
"He had a cheeky smile and he was good fun and, you know, a lot of people have said it is a good guy that has gone.
"That is true because he was one of the good guys."
Michael Hussey described Phillip Hughes as "a great little bloke".
"It's going to be a sad day today. I hope we can celebrate his life because he was a champion bloke.

"Cheeky smile and infectious around the dressing room and he is going to be sorely missed, that's for sure."

I watched the live coverage on the television on channel 7 which was broadcast from Macksville NSW which isn't that far from here.  It was broadcast from inside of the MPC building at the Macksville High School which seated over a thousand people inside who gathered to say goodbye.  This school was Phillips former high school.

A huge storm brewed on the horizon and the wind was blowing hard as the service went on.  It was very moving service listening to people speak of such a passionate good guy.

Phillip was a good kid who loved his Angus Cattle and desired to breed the best cattle and be a cattle farmer after cricket. He worked very hard and was diligent in all he did with high regard for his family and his cattle and his friends and he wore his #408 baggy green with a great deal of well deserved pride.

My own son is this age, 26 and born in 1988.  It brings his mortality to my mind and I have sent my love to these grieving parents who have lost their son with prayers offered up to the infinite universe.
Rest in Peace

A final good bye to Uncle Tom Kelly

IMG 8147 The Koori Flag at half Mast

It was one helluva sorry day here in Urunga today, Uncle Tom was so well known by everyone.  I was so saddened by his passing, I never got an piece of paper to remember him with either and that was upsetting for me.

There services were lovely and there were no room for anymore people in the church with many many people standing on the outside of the church as the grounds of the Urunga Catholic Church swelled with people saying their good byes to Uncle Tom,

This is a photo that Montana [my daughter] took at the cemetery on Hungry Head Road

In the afternoon this arvo there was a massive storm to make him leaving just as there was when he died.  I love you Uncle Tom, you are sorely missed already by us mob in this house.

YOTHU YINDI's lead singer passes from this world!

Yesterday on my birthday the lead singer of Yothu Yindi passed on to the spirit world from here. I was in a state of shock from this and it made me very reflective.  He was 56 years old.

I realize he has gone onto a better place.  In that place he can effect the changes with the great spirits already gone there before us all.

I am saddened he went so soon.  I loved him from afar.  Such a powerful and beautiful man who suffered with Kidney disease. This was caused from Diabetes.
"IN KEEPING IN TRADITION I HAVE NOT NAMED HIM OR SHOWN HIS PICTURES NOW HE IS IN THE SPIRIT WORLD."

Purer Fire
Fire was his clans symbol and fire was his life force.  I understand how this man thought!  He always thought in terms of balance and fairness and he always attempted to achieve a balance with everything.

Chrissy Joy Amphlett 29 October 1959 - 21st April 2013
She grew up in Geelong as a singer and dancer. musically active 1982–2013

Today is a sad day as we all will mourn the passing of one our most beloved female front woman of rock from the gutsy band known all over as The Divinyls.

She and the band brought a style of raunchiness and in your face cheek to rock and the music scene .  The band had an ever evolving line up around her and Mark McEntee, her former lover.

I saw her on a few occasions live at various hotels across Australia before I had children, once we even hung out with the band after a show at a hotel near where we lived at Browns Plains in Brisbane.

Chrissy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and number of years ago,  she kept that under wraps until her performance at Homebake several years ago.   She was living a private life in New York with her drummer husband. She thought it better to tell the audience than to have them assume she was drunk.  The symptoms are often mistaken for drunkedness.  This mistake can cause a great deal of pain for people who are already suffering.

Chrissy was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and she has sadly passed away today on the 21st of April at the age of 53.  This is the age I am and this make me examine my own situation and it highlights  how precious our lives are when we reach this age.  Because of her multiple Sclerosis she was unable to have chemotherapy.  There were claims three years ago that she was cancer free.

Suellen Fraser (my sister) has passed away

by J. R. R. Tolkien

In western lands beneath the Sun
The flowers may rise
The trees may bud, the waters run,
The merry finches sing.
Or there maybe 'tis cloudless night,
And swaying branches bear
The Elven-stars as jewels white
Amid their branching hair.
Though here at journey's end I lie
In darkness buried deep,
Beyond all towers strong and high,
Beyond all mountains steep,
Above all shadows rides the Sun
And Stars for ever dwell:
I will not say the Day is done,
Nor bid the Stars farewell.

This has been a very sad and emotional day.  I am emotionally empty once again as I deal with the sadness's one on top of another.  Texsy isn't alone in the heavens now, she has my little sister to keep her company.  Today marks a day of sadness as we all look at our own mortality brought on by the loss of our youngest sister Suellen Mary.  She passed away at 2am this morning on the 26th April 2012. She was 49 years old.  She was never a healthy girl after she was given Chemotherapy for a disease we all share in my immediate family - Bronchiectasis.  Warwick obviously did not have very bright doctors at the time.  She had not given birth and this treatment prevented this from ever happening.

I am pretty numb in my spirit at this time .  There is now no time left to bond with a sister who I knew only a little of but when I first met her she was still at school and she had gotten a Persian kitten called Sharee.  She was very kind to me and I got along well with her but alas the sadness of losing my mother never faded as I found it increasingly hard to ever go back to Warwick.

I am at a loss and so I will play some good songs tomorrow for Suey in our radio show. Music rises to the heavens and returns back the beautiful vibrations to rain down upon us all here on Earth.  This is why we should sing.   Sound causes what we would call miracles to occur.
