Rainbow Scarabs are big in symbology

Rainbow scarabs, Phanaeus vindex MacLeay, are members of the beetle family Scarabaeidae, which along with the family Geotrupidae, are commonly known as dung beetles (Bertone et al. 2004).

Scarab beetles were the objects of worship in Ancient Egypt and the more spectacular varieties are made into jewelry (Woodruff 1973).

The African dung-rolling beetle utilizes the sun, moon and stars as guides for walking in a straight line (Dacke et al. 2013).

The genus Phanaeus MacLeay is distributed primarily in Neotropical habitats with 100 species, but also in the Nearctic region with nine species and the West Indies with one.

Dung beetles serve an important role in pasture ecosystems, which has resulted in their introduction around the world. The rainbow scarab, Phanaeus vindex MacLeay, has a bright exterior of metallic green, blue, and red interspersed with golden reflections.

What are COLOURS Really?

Color picture
Color picture (Photo credit: @Doug88888)
Colour is an amazing thing.  It is in everything.  All colour comes from the three base  or primary colours  of Yellow Red and Blue and that these number 3 is very important in understanding the universe.

If you understand colour and its gender you can then understand a part of the universe that was once hidden to some and just how these laws effect all matter and spirit  and permeate through all things for eternity.

PRIMARY COLOUR
____________________

This blog  post is primarily pointed towards mixing paint colours like you do when you  mix colour paint with your children and for yourself.  Light reflecting through a prism responds differently to that of mixing colour.   We are only dealing with paint here.

Mixing paint is  a lot of fun especially achieving the differing shades along the way.
"Mixing paint is akin to giving birth to children and wondering what they will look like when you mix mum and dad together."   M. Peters 2013
Those three base colours of pure red, pure blue and pure yellow have often been called the parent colours because from those three all the others are created.  They are the Primary Colours and where printer ink is concerned those primary colours are referred to as Yellow, Magenta and Cyan.

SECONDARY COLOUR

When you have a combination of any two of the Pure Primary Colours you will achieve three new colours called Secondary Colours.  These come from the parent colours  or parent hues and so are like the children born from this relationship.
Yellow + Red = ORANGE
Red + Blue = VIOLET or PURPLE
Blue + Yellow = GREEN
______________________

TERTIARY COLOUR
_______________________

When you mix a Primary colour with  its nearest Secondary colour on the basic color wheel, six new colours are created called Tertiary colors or tertiary hues as some people refer to them as.

Yellow + Orange = YELLOW-ORANGE
Red + Orange = RED-ORANGE
Red + Violet = RED-VIOLET
Blue + Violet = BLUE-VIOLET
Blue + Green = BLUE-GREEN
Yellow + Green = YELLOW-GREEN

Adding the primary, the secondary and the tertiary colours together gives us a total of 12 basic colours.  With these basic colours an endless variety of colour can be achieved  for shades tones and tints.
Our response as humans to colour is influenced by our memories etc but its also fact that nature has hard wired us to respond in very similar ways to colour.
Colour is a language with its own unique vocabulary.  Words emit an energy and so does colour.  Chrystal Healing takes into account the colour energies as well as the energy of the chrystal.

How to Shoot Dawn Shots made simple.

Urunga at Dawn is something heavenly.

IMG 4786 Smash of Dawn Colours
Ten helpful tips by a super photographer Heather Angel on shooting dawn shots.
1. Check time of sunrise or sunset and aim to get on site well beforehand so you have time to select the best camera angle and lens. Remember to pack a flashlight – particularly in the morning.
 2. Use the brief time when the sky is lit indirectly by a magical alpenglow, before the sun rises or just after it sets, as clouds and snow-capped mountains are painted with a rosy glow that may also be reflected in water.
3. To increase the depth of field of a static subject and to soften moving water, use a long exposure with the camera on a tripod.
4. If including active wildlife in the shot, either go for a slow shutter speed to gain creative blur, or push up the ISO.
5. To balance out the exposure between a bright sky above and a darker scene below either use a grad neutral density filter or bracket the exposures and combine using HDR.
6. Use people to provide scale alongside tall buildings or on bridges.

7. Reduce risk of camera movement spoiling a shot
  • use a remote release or a self-timer
  • lock up the mirror
  • add extra weight to the tripod center column
8. If there is not enough light on a foreground subject, paint with a continuous LED light.
9. Look for shapely silhouettes to set off against a colorful sky.
10. Use a long lens to find a picture within a picture.

Invasion Day, Thong Throwing

Hello..

I am setting off to Glenugie today,.   Uncle Tom Kelly has travelled to Glenugie with Joe Walker.  Suzie and I decided we would follow up later.
It will be a big day for me seeing everyone I came to love because of our huge common connection of the love of the Mother Earth and our desire to see her set free from bondage.

Vitamin D directly from the sun, is an excellent healing agent.

The most excellent light.  The full spectrum beaming into my  body through my eyes at dawn.

Sungazing
Me and the Earth share everything in common.  This is a connection to ancient practice.  This is a full blown injection of colour into your body.  Colour in the form of vibration is a healing practice handed down and almost extinguished by Roman tyrany.

Always make sure your shadow is at least three times you're height when you commence or practice  this.  The UV is 0 at this time and therefore not dangerous as falsely preached in the circles of flat earth science that is mindlessly swallowed without question.

Light is colour .. all things have colour when light is shone on to it. Where there is no light there is no colour.

Beams.

When the light is like this in the mornings it is different to a straight stark sunrise .. you actually feel it diffuse around you like warm water gently caressing your spirit. The days when the sun dawns on a clear day you feel the power of the suns energy zooming into you and down into your darkest furthermost crevices and into your toes and fingers. The power is what is different / from nature this shows me that we must experience a variation to counteract the negative energy or negative ions.. it breaks these down in a way that is within the integrity of the vibrations it washes over.

Climb up on some hill at sunrise. Everybody needs perspective once in a while, and you'll find it there. Robb Sagendorph

It is easy to find a beautiful back ground setting here in this area. We are blessed with the natural colours of dawn in the background of this shot.  I just love the awesome colours with the lily in the foreground.  All of this is at dawn On the Hill.

Good Morning!
There is plenty of time to get this kind of perspective both in what the quote above says and also in the photographic image we were trying to achieve here.  Just attempting to get it with the back ground blurry but pretty.  I think I got that here and I was  happy with it.

It isn't easy to get any of these images up here because the Midgees are lethal but this morning the gentle wind must have kept them at bay as I didn't seem to be bothered by them today. I have been told they aren't around so much when its windy.  I tend to keep this in mind now I know this.

If you are never scared, embarrassed or hurt it means you never take any chances.

Julia Sorel.

Making a mistake is not indicative to failure.   If you learned from your failure this is indicative of your success in life.  It is attitude that counts.  Being grateful for what you do have and not what you don't have.   At times in my life it hurts and I have been scared to death.  Really scared to death.  This is the reason for my pension.  I have P.T.S.D. from being held hostage in the bush at knife point and then living with my ex husband who was going to shoot me.  I have been to the 'fear wall' and its not pleasant and it isn't comfortable.

If these places were places of comfort, we would not adjust our behavior.  We would stay unchanged and never grow.    Grow today and give yourself a little scare.  Feel that you are still alive.

Deep unspeakable suffering may well be called a baptism, a regeneration, the initiation into a new state. - George Eliot

Yaanagay,  yagay!    ( Gumbaynggirr)...... Here you are, Here it is!

 The exquisite colours of dawn..

These beautiful colours come at a price because I can assure you that the Midgees are absolutely lethal at this time of the morning.  They do not respond to the Aerogard and now I wear as much clothing as possible and sometimes that means its hot.  I think better to be a little hot and capture these images, than to be bitten and be jumping around like a real fool.

I let nature be the singer and I just listen to the song, biding my time in the dawn's early light.  What a massive sight this morning was.

URUNGA CAROLS 2011 ... We call it peace in a pipe ..And it’s just like fireworks Mind Over Matter

Fireworks
This year the festivities started at 5pm and there was a wide variety of local entertainers and community singing. There was plenty of Food and drink  available to purchase and most brought along a picnic. Santa turned up from the North Pole for a quick visit. The evening finish at 9pm with the most spectacular fireworks display out over the two rivers.( Kalang and Bellinger Rivers).

I was running to get these shots as the light was spectacular.  I forgot my glasses in my haste and ruined a good number of shots in a perfect dawn.

CLEAN and WHITE: Seven

WHITE...

Kookaburra's use the wait and pounce method to get food.  Finding  a place  to sit and wait with a good view like in the picture above.  Swooping down, tough beak ready.  Large food items like large lizards and snakes are then bashed against the trunk of a tree  or bashed onto a rock to mash them a little and make the meat easier to consume.

This is what a kookaburra sounds like (MP3 - 400KB) turn it up!

A kookaburra lives in the one place for most of its life. It also mates for life. Laughing kookaburras establish a social system in which only the dominant male and female in a family group will breed, usually between spring and mid summer.Nests are made in tree hollows or termite mounds in trees or on the ground, where the female will lay up to three eggs. During this time, the rest of the family helps out with the incubation, feeding, and protection of the young.
