The Frack Attack across the Planet.

IMG 0400 NVDA Workshop

The United Kingdom, just like the USA and Australia are now facing the same situation with the "Frack Attack.  The people of the United Kingdom like us here in Australia, are concerned for their countries underground water supplies and the prospect of Fracking damaging these precious water reserves.

In Australia it is clear that aquifers have been pierced and damage has occurred in some places already.  The only reprimand to these corporations is a tiny fine.  A fine - a fine of money.   Seriously, do these governments think we believe that type of reprimand will stop anything?  The answer is a clear No.  It is occurring still as a fine is a false reprimand. The drilling corporations ie Halliburton are absolutely aware of what they are doing and they have prepared ahead of time the statements to the press regarding any flack on the frack.

The governments and the corporations are laughing at us while we all run around like headless chooks doing everything that is humanly possible to stop this.

Dr Ingraffia is a leading spokes person against fracking, he was in the industry for over 20 years and now speaks out about the dangers this is posing to all water reserves on the planet.  Below is a breakdown of what is likely to be the outcome in the United Kingdom if they continue at the rate they are.

WITHIN 20 YEARS, 250,000 FRACKING WELLS WILL BE LEAKING OIL AND/OR GAS INTO THE UK AQUIFERS.  Check these figures.

.243,610 sq km = land area of UK
60% to be fracked = 146166 sq km
one well every 30 hectares (Ingraffea et al)
100 hectares = 1 sq km
Hence the area intended to be fracked is = 14616600 hectares
@ 1 well per 30 hectares = 487220 wells intended to be drilled
@ 10% failure rate after 1 year = 48722 (say 40,000) wells will be leaking into the UK aquifers after ONE YEAR
@ 60% failure rate after 20 years = 292330 (say 250,000) Will be leaking oil and or gas into the UK Aquifers.

WHY GROUNDWATER (AQUIFERS!) IS VITALLY IMPORTANT!

Groundwater makes up nearly 70% of all the world’s freshwater; only 0.2% is found in lakes, streams or rivers and 30% is bound up in snow and ice on mountains and in the polar regions. As rivers and lakes tend to be supported by groundwater, it is not exaggerating to say that almost all the water we use for agriculture, industry and drinking water is either groundwater or has been groundwater at some point in the water cycle.

Groundwater plays a number of very important roles in our environment and in our economies. In the environment it supports rivers, lakes and wetlands, especially through drier months when there is little direct input from rainfall. The flow of groundwater into rivers as seepage through the river bed, known as base-flow, can be essential to the health of wildlife and plants that live in the water.

These mining corporations police themselves and these studies are flawed with flawed science from flawed scientists who are up to their necks in this.  These scientific reports are well known to be written with a company spin.  It all sounds so good.  Too good and that was the first hint there was corruption behind the reports.

The Nannas are on a Terrorist Alert ..

Well not quite, but it appears there are some cheeky haters out there willing to go to the trouble of posting threatening letters to some of the dye hard Knitting Nanna's from the Lismore region.

KNAGS at Casino

The Knitting Nanna's or as they are affectionately known as 'KNAGS'... the knitting Nannas against Gas are woman who knit as a protest measure against the unscrupulous gas industry in Australia.  Their methods are totally peaceful and non violent.

People still have the right of protest.  It is the letter writer who is well out of line along with the Gas industry.  These women are standing up for all of our grand children and for the future of water in this already arid country.

There have been three letters so far with the first arriving last Tuesday the 7th July.  Another on Wednesday and a third on Thursday.

The letter I saw in the media was poorly spelled and was simply dreadful in its language content.  The details of the letter are as follows:
“Smame  shame you knitting nanna fat slut go and do something decent”
The ladies were shocked to receive such offensive mail but are not letting this sort of immaturity dampen their enthusiasm to keep on knitting / protesting Coal Seam Gas when and where ever it is required.

MP Kevin Anderson speaks out on CSG at Hunter Nationals Conference!

IMG 7883

The political machine was working over time after the Nationals Conference on the weekend in the Hunter Valley.   The member for Tamworth, Mr Kevin Anderson has voiced his opinion on the matter in the media. He is clearly against the party line and the push by his own party to end the CSG issue in the Northern Rivers area.

Anderson said he wants a state wide policy adoption and he wants it streamlined.  Of course he does.

He needs the Knitting Nana's help!  He needs better understanding about this issue on a deeper level.  He wants to be a hero in the party for his area of Tamworth, but farmers will not be happy if he does not address this topical issue.

How does he stand on this issue?  People need to know whether or not he wants this type of mining  banned outright or whether he is backing the large mining corporations who seemingly run politics in Australia.

IMG 7883It has been this way since year dot. But now its in your face and it is more than sickening.  Its also frustrating to sit back as a constituent and watch it unfold.

If I was a real knitting Nana I would go to Tamworth but I think the issue here with me doing that is squarely placed with the fact I am not going to ever relent and say that the political system is capable of fixing what the issue is here.

Further to this, others find my attitude odd.  I see lies and corruption and greed and I cannot get past this attitude surrounding Australian economics.

I can't relent on the politics issue because it's just not what I believe to be true anymore.  I wouldn't be being true to myself if I was to go along with what I feel is a  brain dead idea (politics and law can fix the countries issues and fix the destruction from mining) that is going backwards. I know a new paradigm is needed.

Politicians can be nice people, I know this to be fact.  I count one as a dear personal friend.  But I also feel if political policies end up  hurting others who are vulnerable then that alone is key to understanding the party and what sort of person the politician is who instigates such policy.

From observation I see approximately 90 percent of those involved in politics  are narcissistic in their personality type.   This is clearly evident, they cherry pick issues.   Political points scoring and gaining success appear more important for their political careers.   Ask a politician to take a pay cut..  then see the true monster show its face.

Leo thanks Brian Monk of Tara.

No one should stand for this. We need to understand facts have been twisted regarding how we stand up against these powerful corps and the security firms both public [police] and private.

To use force against those that violate us is not equal and reciprocal violence.  We have every right as a sovereign being on this planet to protect our person if violence is perpetrated against us and to use equal and reciprocal force.  NVDA is a con.  (in my opinion as it lacks this sacred masculine of Action)  From my observations this has kept a lot of people from protesting because what is the point of getting a record and a huge fine for nothing.

 Daylesford Chillout 2009 047_copy
 Thank you Brian Monk.

When I wrote and recorded this, I thought we might shake up peoples awareness about the value of this great nation to a point where they'd rise up and march on Canberra and bring this stupidity to an end.

I got shouted at and chased down the street by a team of CSG workers on vacation in Sydney, trolled and lied to by pro Fracking idiots in the comments on YouTube, and slapped on the back by those who appreciated it.

It was good to see the fuss created. But now we are at a standstill.

No matter what we say or do, these fuckers in government and oil and gas companies seem even more determined to 'win' their evil point than ever.

I salute the stand that guys like you and John Jenkyn are taking, but I'm not proud that so many of my fellow Australians are letting you down. I call on everyone reading this to raise their game, 'til we stop this evil forever.  from Leo Sayer.....

Leo has done a lot for us to get the word out but like all of us he is also miffed at the audacity of the government for turning its back on the people of the country and creating a second genocidal event with the indigenous for their sacred lands for mining as well as defending big banks crippling farmers and handing over this arable farming land to overseas interests in mining.

'WATER not CSG' truck comes to our area.

What a site to see Ian's auspicious truck come down my street.  The red horse truck is now rather infamous and gets horns blown at it every where she travels.

It was spotted photographed in the Sydney papers last week.   It was seen at the Gloucester / AGL frontline against fracking at Gloucester.  Now, its been seen in Urunga and in Bellingen and along the New England Highway up the mountain towards Tenterfield spreading the message where ever it goes.

FB IMG 410 Water Not Csg

It was supposed to be all of the potted plants, but there were too many.  What went today in the truck was all that could fit.  There are some plants still here that we will endeavor to have fit in with the removal's truck next week.

I think the boys did well though, they got the majority of the shed contents transported including a wooden table that weighs a ton and the outdoor table that is also weighty.  We used these tables upside down to support the pot plants from swimming around the back

I was chuffed to hear though the grapevine from Ian's partner that other people saw the truck head through Bellingen to Dorrigo.  I felt very proud of them carrying my plants inside of a container that had written on it that we were all about protecting not damaging.

I would assume this is a good thing really in the big picture. Stating clearly what one is about and the philosophies one follows for life and learning is a way of stating who you are to a degree.

Uniting in friendship to save precious farming and cultural lands there will be a free Barbeque cooked by Uncle Mick Horn (Red Chief Warrior) and a gigantic "human sign" photograph to be taken as well to highlight the seriousness of the issues at hand here with Coal Seam Gas and farmland and Water.

If you need more information contact  Megan Kuhn on 0427 476232.   Big numbers are required for this project so get along to Donnelly Playing Fields on the Namoi River Flats  on Maitland Street Gunnedah NSW Today!!

IMG 7164.s6 Santos we are full of it!
SANTOS is an irresponsible company killing country.

There will be no place for such greed orientated outfits in the new paradigm ahead of us all for the future of this country we walk on.   No room for politicians and corporations who hold hands while lying to the faces of the ordinary people who continually say they have no social license to continue.

Lazaruz calls for Royal Commission into the Mining impacts on humans!

IMG 2341 Another Australian Shame - Tara Gas Hub QLD.
Tara on the road out of Dalby and Chinchilla
This weekend I travelled to Dalby and Chinchilla to visit farmers and landowners affected by CSG mining. Queenslander's are on their knees. Property owners are suffering. Many people across the region rely on tank and bore water to live, irrigate, feed their stock and operate their properties.

CSG mining has devastated water sources. Bores and wells have dried up, water is being contaminated, animals are dying and people are becoming very ill.

I am calling for a Royal Commission into the Human Impact of mining, in particular CSG mining and the establishment of a Resources Ombudsman. The people of Queensland need a voice and they need help. Governments and corporations can no longer be allowed to turn a blind eye to what is happening.
While I support the resources sector and understand the important role the sector plays in Australia, the health and welfare of our people must come first and this must NEVER be compromised.
