Metgasco's day in Court.

  • Metgasco took the NSW Government to court for suspending its licence to drill for gas, and Peter Henderson is still whinging about it all.  He's not happy with whats going on so far and it  as he gropes in the dark for false answers to questions he simply refuses to answer truthfully.

IMG 8096 Glenugie's Black Monday

He has shown himself to be a liar though in the eyes of the court as he professed not to know of any community opposition.  Police said they were called whenever access was required to the sites.  Henderson also said he was unaware Police told him over 2000 protesters were camped at the Bentley drilling site on the Northern Rivers.

The hearing in front of Justice Richard Button continues tomorrow at the Sydney Supreme Court.

The ROSELLA REF (Review of Environmental Factors)

I am always ever so comforted that there are protectors that are skilled to be able to read some of this documentation put out by Metgasco and the likes of these Gas mining companies.  Below is some stuff that I found terribly interesting that has come to light lately.

They want to turn this into a GASFIELD
 FROM COAL SEAM GAS NEWS

REF (REVIEW OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS)

METGASCO WEBSITE ANNOUNCEMENT to their SHAREHOLDERS
Rosella E01
The Rosella E01 well will test the conventional and tight gas potential of the Greater Mackellar structure and follows the discovery of gas in conventional sands in the Kingfisher E01 well in 2009. Rosella E01 is not a coal seam gas well.
The primary objective for this well is the Ripley Road sandstone that was tested in Kingfisher E01, south of Casino. The well will also test the thick sequence of gas bearing strata in the Gatton sandstone that had low permeability, together with the deeper Basal Bundamba Sandstone (a lateral equivalent to the Laytons Range Conglomerate), Ipswich and Nymboida Coal Measures that were below the depth reached in Kingfisher-1.
If significant gas is found, the well will be tested to determine if an economic gas rate can be established from zones of interest and then, subject to results, suspended for further testing and evaluation. In the event that the well fails to find suitable reservoir zones, it will be plugged and abandoned and the site rehabilitated and restored to pre-drill condition.
The well is to be drilled on the site of an old, unused quarry. An access agreement with the landowner is in place. A community consultation program has been initiated.
Metgasco’s Managing Director, Mr Peter Henderson, said: “The Rosella E01 well is important for Metgasco and the State of New South Wales. Nearly all of the gas currently used in New South Wales, about 95 per cent, is imported from interstate. Beyond 2016 these gas supplies are not secure. Gas prices in New South Wales are expected to increase significantly in the next few years and there are substantial community concerns over the inability to contract gas supplies. A successful result for Rosella E01 will help secure energy supplies for New South Wales, manage prices and provide employment opportunities in the Northern Rivers region.”
ACTIVIST LETTER/ METGASCO LIES ABOUT THE TRUTH TO SHAREHOLDERS
Metgasco has become aware of a letter to shareholders from an anti-gas activist group. This letter was sent to shareholders using personal details contained on the company’s share registry. Metgasco hasnot yet determined how the group obtained access to this shareholder information, but it was not via Metgasco or its agents. The letter contains statements which are false and misleading and have the potential to give rise to a false market in the trading of Metgasco securities. The matter has been referred to ASIC for investigation. Metgasco wishes to correct two of the false and misleading statements with the following:
1. Fact: Metgasco enjoys the support of the NSW Government, the council in which it works and the local community in which it works.

Contrary to what the letter states, it is not true that more than 90% of residents are opposed to drilling for unconventional gas. Metgasco has valid exploration licences, issued by the elected government of NSW, and all of the company’s field operations are subject to environmental approvals and comply with government regulations – Metgasco has the legal right to explore. Metgasco has a strong degree of support in the areas in which it operates, with 10 years of field activities and more than 300 voluntary landholder agreements. Arbitration rights to obtain land access have never been used. Most of Metgasco’s activities are near Casino, in the Richmond Valley Council area. A poll in late 2012 by the Richmond Valley Council showed that 70% of voters supported coal seam gas provided that it was safe and environmentally sound.

2. Fact: Metgasco suspended its CSG operations in early 2013 because the unexpected February 2013 announcement of NSW Government policy and administrative changes made near term investment in NSW unattractive
.

The letter’s suggestion that the 2013 protest actions at Doubtful Creek led to the suspension of the company’s current operations is wrong and misleading. This protest had no bearing on Metgasco’s decision, and operations were suspended, not terminated.
Prior to the NSW Government’s announcement, Metgasco had successfully completed a seismic acquisition program and the drilling of two CSG wells, despite protest action. During drilling operations there were on average about 30 routine protestors on site, with 100 to 200 protestors during short rig mobilisation periods. Many of the protestors were "professional protestors" and/or from outside the operational areas. The protests caused some delay to the program, comparable to a delay due to adverse weather often experienced in this region. The financial effect of the protests was not material and, again, the protest action was not the reason for Metgasco’s suspension decision.
I decided to Blog this part from Coal Seam Gas News about the map differences because this is the sort of information we should be looking at because the Devil will be in the details.  There details are just not true so this will not be able to be completely concealed no matter how much they try to dress it up.
The preliminary well schematic from the Rosella REF indicates a 7inch inner bore casing will be used from 0-2100m (Kingfishers inner casing was only 4.5in)
I haven’t had time to look further into why a larger production casing could be used but I’m thinking fraccing??
According to this site fraccing has a lot to do with casing design.

The well schematic in the Rosella Community Consultation is completely different to the well schematic in the Rosella REF. I think they used some old Kingfisher graphics in the Community Consultation.

BENTLEY bedazzled The Police out of the picture it seems.

IMG 8270 Metgasco Shame
Metgasco Worker
Over the last weekend there were a couple of thousand people gathered at Bentley, a site just off Naughtons Gap Road near Casino in the north of New South Wales where Metgasco a rogue csg drilling firm are planning on drilling a tight sands well for gas in one of its nineteen gas wells in the area.

The people of the Northern Rivers are willing to fight these "Energy Whores" and they are not willing to give up easily.   This is evident with the amount of people that gathered there over the weekend.  That many people took the Richmond Valley Council by surprise.   Recently this council gave permission for Metgasco to have a workers camp on the site for approximately 29 workers.

I think its wonderful this sort of people power is happening and I am glad that people power can actually have some effect.

Police were reported to have been booked into various motels in Casino ready for the big Monday morning sting against innocent people on the Lismore Road.    They never turned up,  and it appears that people power could well be the reason they could not go ahead with the planned operation into that area.

Metgasco's Media release waffles on about a bogged rig in Queensland and quoted this was the reason for the delay into Bentley.   How long is Hendo's nose now?  It must be getting longer and longer.

Richmond Valley Council are placing signage to slow down in the area and they are attempting to close down the camp site on private property.   These corrupt people in power will not stop because their money is threatened and this is why Metgasco was given the go ahead for their dodgy work camp plans.

Greed is the motivator for  all of these drilling attempts and this is all for sale to a bunch of Chinese companies which our governments have signed contracts with.   Well China get used to it because we are not giving in.   Recently there have been media releases from various gas giants that we are running out of gas and this will keep prices down, they lie.  None of this is our for Australia.

Yesterday being Aprils Fools day I had to fall down laughing at the stunt by young 16 year old Kudra Falla-Ricketts of the Northern Rivers for emailing local journalists from her school with a fake media release regarding Metgascos operations in and around Casino at present.

 Fullscreen capture 3042014 40252 PM.bmp
The email from Kudra  on Tuesday purporting to be from Mr Henderson, claiming that the company would cease its gas operations in the Northern Rivers region after intense community opposition.
Metgasco would instead start planning for a ‘‘solar thermal plant near Casino’’, the false statement said.

That was the best present ever for me to hear this from a young child of Aiden Ricketts local activist from this area.

Metgasco are going all the way with this and calling it fraudulent and I think Peter Henderson will be the one with egg on his face as the markets were not effected by Kudras prank email.

A statement from Metgasco chief executive Peter Henderson said Kudra's prank has now been referred to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.  He went on to say the fake press release could have had a ''devastating'' effect on shareholders and the market.

Personally I think a lot of people would have loved to have seen this happen.   It gives me hope seeing kids make a commitment to the planet like this.  High five to Kudra.

Yaayay it is party time.. to a small degree.

But this is only a small reprieve as the fight widens now to Washpool National Park and the PEL16
It is party time though still because Metgasco Shares are at an all time low sitting around 14cents a share on the ASX at the moment.  Any financial institution that gets into bed with these guys has got to be run by mad men.

The Csg industry in Australia is leaking like this fresh water on the beach in the vicinity of the Thornbill E04 PEL
On the 8 February 2013 this was the Metgasco Drilling report:
Drilling announcement
Rig mobilised to Bowerbird E04 site
Metgasco advises that the AJ Lucas Rig 103 was mobilised to the Bowerbird E04 well site in PEL 13 from the Thornbill E04 site. Metgasco expects to spud the well over the next few days.
The commencement of the Bowerbird E04 well was delayed due to the recent floods in the Northern Rivers area.
Bowerbird E04 is a vertical exploration well designed to further assess the Walloon Coal Measures to the north of the Bowerbird E02 well, drilled in 2010. The total planned depth of the well is 550 metres. The well will be “plugged and abandoned” before the rig leaves the site and the site rehabilitated.
This well is the second well in the 2013 work program approved by the New South Wales Government. Following the completion of this well Metgasco will prepare to drill 3 lateral wells in PEL 16 to demonstrate the productivity of the coal seams and a conventional well to test the Greater Mackellar structure.
Metgasco has a 100% interest in PEL13 and PEL 16.

MARKET BRIEFING
What are your plans for drilling the Greater Mackellar structure and how large is this structure?
Peter Henderson
Right now we’re analyzing the successful seismic data captured late last year. This data will help us to better define the structure before drilling of the Rosella-1 well starts. Our plan is for drilling to occur over the May to June period.

Rosella -1 is in the Washpool National Park. I am fairly sure.  They intend to do this in April May  it is suggested in another publication and here in this report they say May June.  We need to assemble now and get good vantage points of action against these people destroying country that is so sacred with this indiscriminate Csg Fracking industry of death.

WATER SAMPLES TAKEN UNDER DURESS!

IMG 8246

The local Community and Environmental Protestors demanded their right; to take water samples from trucks to and from the Glenugie CSG site.  Yesterday a water truck attempting to exit was blocked.
An enormous banner with the Peoples concerns on it, was raised across the drive way.
Present to witness these happening was the Mayor of Byron Bay, the Mayor of Lismore, Prime news and the ABC who happened to be doing a segment on the Family recently arrested outraged over this issue.

When the Police arrived the truck was given Police escort.  On its slow way down Lane Avenue, driving behind the disgruntled Protestors, a local land owner climbed on the back and proceeded to undo a water container lid.
IMG 6879 Glenugie Action against Csg

He was pursued by a large Security Guard but still managed to get a bottle filled. Police and Security lunged for the bottle, attempting to empty it but Protestors snatched it back and passed it on to the Mayor of Lismore to have it tested.

 POLICE TALKING ABOUT THEIR ROLES:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/clouds_creek/8381670233/
"We don't look after their property once their trucks and their machinery and their equipment (is on site), that's their obligation," she said.
"Our main response is about getting those vehicles in, and that's obviously where the conflict comes in.
"The community members who are protesting think that that's where they can get the best voice that can be heard and the best publicity, and they will place themselves in between the trucks and the site.
"Regretfully once we start arresting then obviously conflict arises, and you can be looking at assault police charges which do carry some hefty penalties.
"Sometimes when they're in a group their feelings and emotions get carried away, and people find that they do things that they would not normally do.

NO SOCIAL LICENCE – ANXIETY & STRESS CLAIMS ITS FIRST VICTIM AT GLENUGIE

by What's Wrong With Gas on Thursday, 17 January 2013 at 05:18 ·

PETER HENDERSON CEO METGASCO
This is the man who sent in the riot squad break us...

17 January 2013

The CSG & Mining Industries have been known to tear apart local communities.  Tara and Gladstone are prime examples.  Suicides are on the rise, as is depression, anxiety and stress.

The same can now be said for the Clarence Valley and Glenugie – in fact, the entire Northern Rivers area, and notably in Kyogle and Casino.

At the Glenugie Protest, many of the local people are fighting for their homes, for their families and ultimately, for their lives.

"The Knitting Nannas" Some of the protesters present on "Bloody Monday"

Luke Vassella to protesters on "Bloody Monday"

Bearing all this mind, it would not be unexpected to find emotions running high sometimes at the Glenugie protest site.

This has become even more evident after the “Bloody Monday” incident where the Riot Squad gatecrashed the community’s peaceful and rightful protest/blockade by stomping all over our rights and our bodies in what could be construed as physical assault by the NSW Police Force.

A father & son being arrested for ?? "Bloody Monday"

Does this man look like a danger? "Bloody Monday"

Can you see the obvious need for such brute force? "Bloody Monday"

Reports have now reached us of an incident last night at the site, when all the stress and anxiety was just too much to bear for one local man, a regular at the protest site.

We are told that this man became quite emotional, jumped the fence and had an altercation with the security guards on site.

The situation had not improved by the time the Police were called and another altercation ensued with one of the arresting officers...  more information soon as it comes to hand.

Whilst some may view this man’s actions (last night) as “illegal”, we believe that MetGasCo’s invasion of our Country and planned theft of our water, our homes and our health is morally UNLAWFUL, and as such, criminal.

Metgasco Managing Director, Peter Henderson has promised during the past 12 months, in an ABC interview, that MetGasCo would proceed in the Northern Rivers only if they had a “social licence” to do so.

This is a newsflash MetGasCo – you have NO social licence here in the Northern Rivers and this is the beginning of the social cost of this toxic industry.  You are pushing normal, everyday people to the edge.

Over twenty eight (28) arrest to date, the clogging of the court system with law abiding, honest citizens, the loss of community productivity brought about by those at the protest, the absolute waste of Police time and resources,  all mixed together with the declining emotional health of our community – it is obvious this industry is breaking our community and people apart.

What say you Mr Peter Henderson?
