The Aussie 'Voting System' has become a disastrous joke.

The Australian voting system is how the elections of the various state governments as well as the federal government are put into power. The commission office was once held in high regard, now its a shell of its former self.  The Electoral Commission oversees the counting of the votes and the rolls that place people for voting day.

Government employees at the AEC are being held accountable for the really loose work ethic around transporting the votes to the counting house.  Recently in 2013 the system showed its flaws with nearly 2ooo votes missing triggering a re-election.

The nearly 1,400 Senate ballot slips that disappeared in Western Australia during the last federal election may have literally fallen off the back of a truck, says a federal parliamentary committee.

The Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters lambasted the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) in its final report into the 2013 federal election, describing the incident as "disastrous".

• Polling indicates the Coalition will comfortably retain government in NSW, but sustain a swing against it of up to 10 per cent.

• Santos Energy is seeking approval to expand its controversial pilot coal seam gas field in northern NSW, shaping up as a key battleground in this election. 

• Actor Michael Caton has entered the CSG debate, telling voters in the sprawling north-western NSW seat of Barwon to "shove it up the major parties".

"Tell 'em they're dreamin", says Michael Caton in a famous line from the movie he stars in called "The Castle".  Michael Caton says the very  same thing to politicians about coal seam gas mining and he loves the Knitting Nanas.

Last Friday on Facebook Michael posted a video he had done up himself where he spells out to the viewers to vote for an independent candidate in Barwon "just to shove it up the major parties".

Caton says:

"Driving through the Upper Hunter, 'it looks like something from the dark side of the moon'.

"The Greens are the way to go, to stop secret plans for 16 new coal mines backed by both major parties," he said in the film, which has been watched  almost 100,000 times."
