A New Chapter begins on the New England Highlands!

22nd day of the month and we unpack the Truck.... Number 22 is a number of power and accomplishment.

Raleigh Removals - Dean and Jeff
I was excited this unpacking day fell on April 22.   This is because those two's do show up to me often.  The number 22 is a significant number which and is 2 appearing twice and this strengthens the message it is carrying.  The # 2 relates to our Divinity Path and our souls journey of learning.   Having this number significant shows the self to keep doing the great work.  The clear message here is to keep working consistently on my divine purpose which is the infinite consciousness (God) experiencing itself through creation.

Most everything was packed into the substantial shed that we now have.  It comes complete with a cement floor and lining and so our chatels were taken in there straight from the truck.  The old black hand painted fridge and my sadly rusting washing machine did however come in today while the boys were here to help as both are quite heavy and awkward to cart around alone.

We have a lot of cleaning to finish off to be able to live alright, albeit a temporary clean for now.  So today while Brice helped the boys unpack the truck, I concentrated on cleaning the bathroom from top to bottom.

After all of the hard work we carried out today we needed a great shower and a clean good bed so I was diligent and washed the walls in our bedroom, mopped the uncovered wooden floors and then  we put up our bed and made it with all the doonas we owned.

I felt good because I had cleaned the bathroom and toilet to a spick fashion. The kitchen too was given a fair good clean bench wise.  Tomorrow we will clean all of the cupboards.  Today was simply a huge day from start to finish too and today also started at about 4:30am.

When the removal boys arrived at our house this morning they were able to convey to us what had happened with the major weather event south of us where we are here at our beloved Dungog.

Dungog floods
Four people lost their lives in an absolute freak storm for that area.  It kind of shook Jeff Guest the removals guy up because only yesterday I was telling him the reason why we were leaving the coast to get to higher ground.

I told him it was vitally important to me to get to a place where I could feel safer.    I  have been predicting strange things weather wise for some years now numbering about three years.  In my opinion being on the edge of the Pacific Ocean on a cliff which was really a midden  was not where I wanted to weather this weather event I think is on route.  My past recurring dreams of water hitting Dorrigo Mountain was a large contributing factor along with the fact I am a poor swimmer.

The big wet sets in for a 3rd time in as many months

The rainfall in and around Bellingen averages 1517mm per year.

SAM 8345 February Floods 2013 - URUNGA
Bellinger River in Flood at Urunga

The rain falls mainly in the summer and autumn in the form of showers and thunderstorms moving off the plateau to the west and south west. The heaviest rain however occurs when a low pressure area forms off the east coast or moves down from the north / northwest. This situation can bring periods of extremely heavy rain that can cause rapid flooding of the Bellinger Valley as water pours down the valleys from the mountains behind the town. Dorrigo, on the plateau behind Bellingen, holds the NSW record for the greatest fall in a 24 hour period - approximately 800mm.
As with most of Australia however Bellingen is a town of weather extremes and the difference between the maximum recorded in any month (up to 900mm+) and the lowest ever recorded for the same period (around 0mm for many months of the year) shows how variable the climate can be. In the wettest period daily rainfall has reached up to approx. 350mm - but at other times many weeks can pass without a drop being recorded.

The average temperature in Bellingen varies from approximately 30 degrees celcius in Summer to around 20 degrees in Winter. This is regarded by many as close to an ideal climate. Bellingen does suffer from some extremes however with several days each year registering over 40 degrees and several days of frost each each winter.  Summer days can get oppressive with the average dewpoint in January over 20 degrees celcius.

Melonpop Drive is littered with tree branches and downed power lines!

No Melonpop Drive this week, we have the makings of a cyclone upon us.  I must stay home for safety.

Dogs must be on a lead so they do not get blown from your hands whilst walking on footbridge.
SAM 8348

The Low pressure system off the east coast is going to deliver record breaking flood waters today.  Some have not recovered from the previous flood 3 weeks ago of great significance as well.   This will cause a lot of devistation.  Ballina has had in excess of 50 roofs off in the general area that the SES has had to attend.

We invoke the sacrifices of our fallen heroes in the abstract, but we seldom take time to thank them individually.

~ Rahm Emanuel ~

Last night at approximately 1.30am this Eucalyptus Tree came crashing down in our front yard.  It woke me with the death groan it made falling,  I was awake before it hit the ground.
The result of the fall was a tree across the road on the crest of the hill.   I had no telephone connectivity, it had gone with the tree.
I thought for a minute and weighed up the consequenses and rang 000 and told them on my mobile phone there was a tree across the road and someone needed to help me to avert a fatality.

IMG 8489 Fallen Comrade
Our Fallen Tree
The tree looked to me like a fallen warrior,  for the three years we lived here I could feel the pain of this tree, its branches all contorted and twisted.   I had wondered how old it was,  I wonder even more now.
Flooding has increased all over the North Coast area and many are experiencing the worst flooding in white recorded history.
The weather is going to hang around for a little while and the worst of the wind is yet to come.

At times : It never rains but it pours.... ( proverb)

Not much sun today in old Urunga town... I managed to get a time bit of sunshine on the dawn horizon.

This morning down the coast a short way flash flooding occurred in Port Macquarie as a storm cell dumped inches of rain on the area.

I have just returned from being up the coast with the girls having fun and seeing sights for fun and photographing all of them.  Cathy and Ana and Jew and I had so many laughs it was surely good for our souls.  It was hilarious trying to understand each other again.   Thai isn't easy and spanish is fun.  I come home speaking like a mix of all of these.

The trip was marred with some sadness as we recalled again our many great stories of our dear departed friend Texsy who was tragically run over while walking home late last year in 2011.   We shed tears and laughed for her.  We said on more than one occasion that we felt she was there with us.

I love Jew, I love the tenacity that this woman has.  I love Ana, she is someone to look up to as she is wise and beautiful in her spirit.  Cathy and I took the trip for fun, we couldn't help but think how much it was like old times when we used to trip around NSW with  my job with Koala Publishing.

The entire trip was filled with the effects of the butterfly once more.

And on this day many lessons were learned and bridges were burned to the ground

Metaphorically speaking because not much is actually burning around here.  At the moment  this Australia Day finds the place totally inundated and experiencing some fairly serious flooding.

It has been raining for over a week now and the area has a maximum capacity and at the moment we are actually teetering on a real disaster occurring if the rain continues.  The water table is at maximum because of continual steady rain now for a good while.  We wait to see how much the rain falls.

Tears from  heaven.... to take care of you.. for the ones who have loved and lost.

MODERATE FLOOD WARNING FOR THE BELLINGER RIVER

Issued at 10:36 am EDT on Thursday 26 January 2012
Flood Warning Number: 22
Up to 550 mm has fallen over the Bellinger catchment in the last 4 days. However the rainfall intensity has increased during the last 3 hours with up to 80 mm falling during this period. This has resulted in renewed rises in the Bellinger River.
There is currently moderate flooding at Thora. Bellingen is expected to reach moderate flood level (6.7 metres) around 12 pm.
Further rainfall is predicted for the next 12-24 hours, which could produce further river rises. The situation is being closely monitored and revised predictions issued if necessary.

He was so benevolent, so merciful a man that, in his mistaken passion, he would have held an umbrella over a duck in a shower of rain. - Douglas William Jerrold

Glad I am on the hill in Urunga at the present moment.  I received information that the SES ( State Emergency Service) are door knocking in my old street in Bellingen.  When the SES come knocking you know its bad.

This present inclement weather is caused by the following, High cloud with embedded thunderstorms covers much of eastern Queensland and northern NSW and is associated with an upper-level trough. Extensive areas of cloud with embedded thunderstorms also cover much of the far north of the continent as well as waters to the north and northwest of Australia. This cloud is associated with an active monsoon trough.

THE GREEN PARTY - Teth

GREEN EYED MONSTER

We all know it as jealousy, but how?  It goes back to the Shakespearean Play "Orthello" in Act III.  Shakespeare used a cat's green eyes to represent jealousy and referred to it as "Green Eyed Monster" in the plays, the phrase just caught on!

The Phoenician letter name ṭēth means "wheel".

The letter possibly continues a Middle Bronze Age glyph named ṭab "good", Tav in Arameic and Tov טוב in Hebrew, ṭayyib طيب in modern Arabic, based on the nfr "good"  hieroglyph Jewish scripture books about the "holy letters" from the 10th century and on discuss the connection or origin of the letter Teth with the word Tov, and the Bible uses the word 'Tov' in alphabetic chapters to depict the letter.
