Black BOST (Basque)

IMG 2078 Crows Breakfast

BOST - BASQUE word for the numeral 5

Black is my favorite color. I go back to black, black, black, black! This is also a well known line from a song  from the late Amy Winehouse's album by the same name "Back to Black"

I love blackouts and using candles when there is a power outage. There is something romantic about this to me.

My car is black. My best friend's hair is black. My cat is black. In fact my first cat was black too. Black is not considered a color as it has the absence of light. People have black moods, and if you traveling along alright financially speaking, you are said to be trading in the black.
Lately everything appears black, some days are in fact blacker than others for me. Is this depression? Is depression normal when your in fact sad? I think so, I think that if your feeling like your heart has been completely crushed beyond recognition than Black is how your going to feel.

If you are punched in the eye you get a black eye..... same same if you're punched in the heart you get a black heart, its not rocket science.

BLACKOUT - HAMAR

BLACK is mentioned in Gerald Manley Hopkins poem "I Wake"

I WAKE and feel the fell of dark, not day.
What hours, O what black hours we have spent

This night! what sights you, heart, saw; ways you went!
And more must, in yet longer light’s delay.
With witness I speak this.
But where I say 5 Hours I mean years mean life.
And my lament
Is cries countless cries
like dead letters sent
To dearest him that lives alas! away.

I am gall, I am heartburn.
God’s most deep decree
Bitter would have me taste: my taste was me;
10 Bones built in me, flesh filled, blood brimmed the curse.
Self yeast of spirit a dull dough sours I see
The lost are like this, and their scourge to be
As I am mine, their sweating selves; but worse.

Hopkins uses the absence of light to communicate his grief and uncertainty throughout the poem and uses light to symbolize hope.

I chose this poem to symbolize black as Gerald Manley Hopkins is one of my favorite poets of his time.  b.July 28, 1844 died June 8, 1889, He writes about the demons that happen in the darkness and how things seem worse in the dark hours and with the light a new hope is once more re kindled. Sometimes it is the dawn and the sight of the sun that has saved me from my own despair of being awake in those dark hours sleeping five hours maximum most evenings. As Hopkins was laying dying, his last words were. "I am happy, oh so happy"

BLACKOUT - BEDERATZI

BLACK is worn a lot by people performing on stage and black is still the colour of choice to be worn out at night by most.

More on the "Meaning and Symbolism" of the color Black.
Black is authoritative and powerful; because black can evoke strong emotions too much can be overwhelming. Black represents a lack of color, the primordial void, emptiness. A classic color for clothing possibly because it makes the wearer appear thinner and more sophisticated.

BLACKOUT - ZAZPI

BLACK or Negative tattooing is my style.  I am not a fan of colour in tattoos.

I have a number of black tattoos, a style of tattooing that regained popularity.

Typically, black and gray tattoo work is produced by diluting the black ink with distilled water in various proportions, creating a "wash", lighter shades can be produced. Some artists mix white ink with black to produce a gray shade, but it is not the traditional method.
After a tattoo has been completed with varying degrees of black, highlights are often added using white. White ink can also be used to smooth out sharp transitions between the different shades.

BLACKOUT - HIRU

MASSIVE BLACK SPEAKERS... these things have sent me partly deaf.

 ...day 3 of black...

A black hole is a curvature of spacetime geometry due to an intense gravitational field. The effects of a black hole are so extreme that even light cannot escape it.
A black hole is formed when a star of sufficient mass undergoes gravitational collapse, with most or all of its mass compressed into a sufficiently small area of space, causing infinite space time curvature at that point (a "singularity"). Such a massive space time curvature allows nothing, not even light, to escape from the "event horizon," or border.

BLACKOUT .. BI..

The Luckiest Black Cat

Please allow me to introduce to you one of the luckiest black cats.  Her name is Sooty and she is adorable plus!  She came via a life changing decision which she did not fit into at the time.  My good fortune,  as she is one hectic girl with more personality than most politicians n preachers.  She is a killer.  She kills rabbits and brings them home to me!

Why are Black Cats considered lucky or unlucky...Many cultures have superstitions about black cats, often ascribing either "good luck" or "bad luck"
to them.  The folklore surrounding black cats varies from culture to culture.  Depends what part of the world your in at the time!
