Spinning.. Wool and Alpaca

Yes, its true.  I am a spinner.  In other words I spin wool and other fibre to make yarn that can be used for all types of projects where wool is required, jumpers, socks, shawls, cowls.

My first spinning wheel came from Newcastle NSW and it used to belong to an elderly lady who passed on.  It was advertised on Gumtree as her daughters were wanting to sell it. 

It has come to a fine home and I hope I can pass this onto perhaps Shelby or Montana.

I have a second wheel now and it is an Ashford Wheel and its an antique.  It came with only one bobbin and I need to order two more bobbins so I can ply my yarn once spun.  You need more than one bobbin to carry out this task.

There is an amazing creative space in Glen Innes called "Artisans on the Glen" and the lady who runs this is an Ashford representative and I will be going to her for help in finding new bits for my ancient Ashford Wheel.

The first job when you receive a fleece is to skirt the fleece. Usually this is done before you get the fleece but sometimes it may not be and there is always more work to do to a raw fleece.  The vegetable matter hides and its endless and so you can spend quite a while picking through and over it cleaning this off.

After skirting the fleece the fleece is scoured or washed in very hot water and soap. It is important that the water temperature between washing and rinsing are kept as close as possible to each other. I use pizza tray lids on top of the buckets to keep the temps hot.  I draw both buckets at the same time.

   Roving is a long narrow bundle of fibre created by carding with combs which can be then spun for wool.
Batts are carded hunks of fibre as it comes off a drum carder or large processing carder at woollen mills.
Hanks are a 560 yard length of skein of wool, usually wound on a niddy-noddy or a fold up skein making tool that looks a bit like a children's wooden washing line.
Knots of wool  are a 40-yard strand skein of yarn wound on a niddy-noddy that measures 2 yards in circumference and this = 80 yards.

Niddy-Noddy is a funny name for a very useful tool which is double-headed and is used to skein spun yarn.
The Mother of All is the entire spinning mechanism on a spinning wheel which are the maidens, flyer and bobbin.
 The Maidens (or sisters) are the two upright pieces of wood that hold the spinning apparatus in a horizontal position.
 Noils are the annoying little short fibres which are removed when combing the fleece. Later these can be mixed with other wool and carded and spun.
Dizzing takes a lot of practice.  It is a tool with a hole in the middle and you pull through the hole from the hackle to make long lengths of blended or plain roving for spinning. I use a metal key with a hole in the top for dizzing.  It works.
Staple is the 'staple length' which is the length of the raw woollen lock.
Drafting the fibre is basically stretching the fibre out combining it and making it longer for spinning.
Flyer is the u-shaped device on a treadle spinning wheel that twists the yarn.
Carders are a pair of brushes used to smooth and straighten fibres ready for dizzing into roving and spinning.  I use smaller versions and use dog brushes that are the same carding material.

I just love spinning.  I have spun nothing the last few days.  I have been busily washing as much wool as I possibly can to get it all clean and bagged into old pillowcases, labelled and ready for spinning.   It is a massive job and it takes a lot of time if you want to do it well.  Always remembering to touch wet wool as little as physically possible because it will felt.

Alpaca Overview: Felting Alpaca

 Yesterday I went to a felting workshop ... I made an awesome piece and felted a chiffon scarf.

Today after reading this article below I attempted to felt raw Alpaca wool.  It worked a treat.   I am going to do several unique pieces and join those tastefully as a band on a long warm skirt for winter.  I intend to make a work of art to wear.  Something resembling that of a Nordic style, to which from one corner of the world I inherit my strong blonde hair.

 Allegedly this taboo-breaking piece of art was a very secret work of Hungarian painter genius, Munkácsy Mihály, realized between 1882-1887, at the request of Russian tzar, Alexander III, and inspired by the world-famous Tiszaeszlár Affair (Hungary, 1882), which was a blood-libel directed against a group of Jews, who murdered 14 year-old Solymosi Eszter inside a sacrificial ritual.

The painting is absolutely monumental in depicting Jewish thirst for "goyim" blood. The young girl can also represent modern Europe as being encircled by demonic Zionists and prepared for being crucified.

There is a whole scandal in Hungary already (as always when something "antisemitic" stirs up in the news). Some (Socialists, Liberals, Jews) already plead for reconsidering the artistic and human values of Munkácsy, who is one of the most revered artists in Hungary's cultural pantheon.

It's incredible how these scums are ready to boycott this great artist's legacy, just because after one hundred years there was discovered a painting of his, which is highly incriminating towards the Jewish community.

These political circles already managed to influence our academia to renegade some of our most precious writers and poets, only because they dared to name the Jew as one of the core reasons Hungary and all the Western World are on a cultural, social and spiritual decline.

I seriously hope this time we will fight for the integrity and good-name of this great painter, and they won't eradicate another brilliant Hungarian from our public discourse. The masses need to be exposed to such art.   Source FGCP

Frank Yamma - Appearing at Hungry Head today.

The Central Desert.

Today Frank Yamma is performing in my home place, here in Urunga on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Gumbaynggirr lands.   I am glad he has come, I would  love to hear his songs, his voice - the resonance and the stories up close and personal.    Ginnagay Frank.  Big thanks to Bryony Taylor who with Global Vibe has booked Frank to call in here.

 Financially I am precluded from listening to him personally (live).  I desire change to these living arrangements.  I would like to afford to Live.  Existing, paying ludicrous amounts of money for rent and adapting to eating less, generally genuinely precludes me from situations like these, seeing Frank or any other performances.   Next year will see some good changes to this for us. So for today I will be satisfied with knowing he is close by and I can listen to his music online.

Montana's Major Work for Year 12

Montana-Star created this felt and I am so amazed with the beauty of this piece and thus the significance that she was looking to capture has been demonstrated in such a way that it is an 'honor' as my friend said ... I was truly filled with Love...and I felt Loved . .

The other side shows the Sky, Mountains, Beach and Ocean.

This is what I stand for.  I stand for the protection of our planet and all of these are in need of protection as daily the government passes laws that take away our Air, Water, Food, Medicine, and out Freedoms.

We are subject to a silent war and largely the slaves are fighting us like we are the enemy.  We are not the enemy.  We are trying to protect what is left before they go too far and it can never be changed.

Meditation is a bridge between Soul and Personality

The recognition of duality in human nature produces, eventually, the intention to bridge the gap between the personality and soul, for the soul ever seeks conscious union with its personality expression.

While aspiration may provide the motive, the real work of bridge building is carried out on the mental level, based on the ability to control the mind through the discipline of regular meditation. Meditation establishes relationship between soul and personality. It is a cooperative relationship, leading ultimately to soul-personality fusion.

The work is based on the simple premise that energy follows and conforms itself to thought. Correct use of the power of the mind will achieve any purpose, good or not so good. Occult meditation involves a focused mind, the capacity to visualize, an ability to build thought forms and to use the creative imagination, plus an accurate grasp of the soul's intent.

This type of meditation enhances the quality of life. It creates a lighted way of relationship and communication between the subjective realm of the soul and its objective expression. the personality. As the personality adapts and surrenders to the dominance of the soul as the real Self, it is in turn redeemed by soul light and energy and all aspects of life on the physical plane are irradiated and uplifted.

The first step towards this unfoldment is concentration, or the ability to hold the mind steadily and unwaveringly upon that which the aspirant chooses. This first step is one of the most difficult stages in the meditation process and involves constant unremitting ability to keep bringing the mind back to that "object" upon which the aspirant has chosen to concentrate. The stages in concentration are themselves well marked and can be stated as follows:

1. The choice of some "object" upon which to concentrate.
2. The withdrawing of the mind-consciousness from the periphery of the body, so that the avenues of outer perception and contact (the five senses) are stilled, and the consciousness is no longer outgoing.
3. The centering of the consciousness and its steadying within the head at a point midway between the eyebrows.
4. The application of the mind, or the paying of close attention to the object chosen for concentration.
5. The visualization of that object, imaginative perception of it and logical reasoning about it.
6. The extension of the mental concepts which have been formed from the specific and particular to the general and the universal or cosmic.
7. An attempt to arrive at that which lies back of the form considered, or to reach the idea which is responsible for the form.

This process gradually steps up the consciousness and enables the aspirant to arrive at the life side of manifestation instead of the form side. It begins however with the form or "object." Objects upon which to concentrate are of four kinds:

1. External objects, such as images of the deity, pictures or forms in nature.
2. Internal objects, such as the centers in the etheric body.
3. Qualities, such as the various virtues, with the intent to awaken desire for these virtues and thus to build them into the content of the personal life.
4. Mental concepts or those ideas which embody the ideals lying back of all animated forms. These may take the form of symbols or of words.

It is the realization of the necessity for "objects" in concentration that originated the demand for images, sacred sculptures and pictures. All these objects entail the use of the lower concrete mind and this is the necessary preliminary stage. Their use brings the mind into a controlled condition so that the aspirant can make it do whatever he or she chooses.

The four types of objects mentioned above carry the aspirant gradually inwards, enabling the transfer of consciousness to be made from the physical plane into the etheric realm, from thence into the world of desire or of the emotions, and so into the world of mental ideas and concepts.
This process, which is carried on within the brain, brings the entire lower nature into a state of one- pointed coherent attention, leading to a concentration of all the mental faculties. The mind then is no longer scattering, unsteady and outgoing, but is fully "fixed in attention."... This clear, one-pointed, still perception of an object, without any other object or thought entering into one's consciousness is most difficult of achievement, and when it can be done for the space of twelve seconds, true concentration is being achieved....

Meditation is but the extension of concentration and grows out of the facility one achieves in "fixing the mind" at will on any particular object. It falls under the same rules and conditions as concentration and the only distinction between the two is in the time element.

The Need for Care in Meditation: 

THOUGHT FOLLOWS ENERGY
The fundamental law governing all meditation work is the ancient one formulated by the seers in India centuries ago, that "energy follows thought". From the realm of ideas (or of soul knowledge) energy pours through; ...it seeps little by little into the dense minds of men and women, and to it can be traced all the forward movements of the present time, all organization of general welfare and of group betterment; all religious concepts and all outer knowledge of the Causes which produce objectivity....

Every form, whether it be the form of a sewing machine, of a social order or of a solar system, can be posited as the materialization of the thought of some thinker, or of some group of thinkers. It is a form of creative work...and all the work has been concentrated with energy of some type or another. The student of meditation must, therefore, remember that he is always working with energies, and that these varying energies will have a definite effect upon the form nature.

It will be apparent, therefore, that those who are learning to meditate must endeavor to do two things:
First: They must learn to "bring through" into the mind and then interpret correctly what...has been seen and contacted, and later transmit it correctly and accurately to the attentive and impressionable brain.
Second: They must learn the nature of the energies...contacted and train themselves to utilize them correctly. A practical illustration of this can be given here. We are swept by anger or irritation. Instinctively we begin to shout. Why? Emotional energy has us in its grip. By learning to control the energy of the spoken word we begin to master that particular type of emotional energy.

In these two ideas of right interpretation and right transmission, and of right use of energy, the whole story of the meditation work is summed up. It becomes apparent also what is the problem confronting the student, and why all wise teachers of the technique of meditation urge upon their pupils the need of care and slow procedure.

My take on this :  I meditate by standing still and just looking at one thing and clear my mind.  That is what I call a real short meditation.  A long meditation for me is painting. 

While doing dot paintings I find that I concentrate on the dot.  I think of nothing but putting another dot in paint.  After a little while this becomes like I have left the room and my arm is painting but my mind is in the heavens

I see visions and hear messages in myriads while in this place.  My partner says I have a far away look in my eye and I seem to leave for a couple of hours.  I find this fascinating to hear these reports of me. 
The sea floor has risen hundreds of meters under the ocean (sea floor) these are the after thoughts I don't entertain while painting.  I prefer to allow the messages to come with out me entertaining.  Letting them just flow naturally like a river does.  Sometimes it twists and turns and spirals like water rushing to an ocean.   Rushing like lovers in the night who have been separated for a time.   I love that analogy. 
The other meditation I like to do is with the dawning sun.  I look directly into the sun and clear my mind of everything and concentrate on only the light and I do this for around a minute.  I have been doing this for sometime and I don't recommend that others do this for this long first up if attempting this. 

Build up from ten seconds to nine minutes.  I only stay a minute doing this as being barefoot on the earth where I live elicits the visit of many biting midgee's and they itch like crazy.  So we stay one minute doing this knowing the energy input coming into my body via the Pineal Gland and the Sunshine and the action of it going through my eyes and settling in my brain.   I swear I see the suns ejections when I look at it like this.  There is most definitely another colour surrounding the sun.  This is where the Star Water is / the ice crystals around the sun.  Sometimes a rainbow  around the sun is these ice crystals illuminated and it is possible to see this in the form of a rainbow.  It is technically called a Sun Dog.

These are the fires and the fresh daisies and this is the water and the heat and the flowers that I am feeling when I am in a state of absolute abandon with the love of nature and just how beautifully perfectly in tune we are. It is like I can see the piece of gold that is in people.  At the base of this they are gold.

  

 I look at the large tree out of my window as it looks back in at me. We are now connected in thought and I cannot pass under this tree without saying hello.  This one isn't an inlaw, its a spirit tree.  I have felt the tree spit at me.  This was awesome, it was like light rain on a hot day.  Its this large gum outside my window.

Hip Hop Artist.s of the Year . . . . . . Yung Warriors

Yung Warriors (also called Tjimba and the Yung Warriors) are an Australian hip hop group.
They released their debut album Warrior 4 Life in August 2007. They played at 2008 Big Day Out, at Yabun in Sydney, at the World Indigenous Peoples Conference: Education in Melbourne and supported. They were nominated for Deadlys in 2008 and 2009.  and have had national airplay on Triple J.

Melbourne-based Hip Hop duo the Yung Warriors, come from a great musical lineage.  Tjimba Possum Burns and His brother Narjik Day Burns are the sons of Selywn Burns of legendary's indigenous band Coloured Stone They've supported the likes of Akon, 50 Cent, The Game and Outlawz.   In 2012 the duo released their second album, Standing Strong, featuring the hit single Just a Thought.

These boys come from real special backgrounds in the indigenous nations.

Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri led a groundbreaking career and was amongst the vanguard of Indigenous Australian artists to be recognised by the international art world. Like Albert Namatjira before him, Clifford Possum blazed a trail for future generations of Indigenous artists; bridging the gap between Aboriginal art and contemporary Australian art.

His obituaries, which appeared in newspapers around the world, generally referred to him as Clifford Possum and gave his age as about 70.  While his year of birth is considered to be approximately correct, the day and month remained undocumented. His two daughters, Gabriella Possum Nungurayyi and Michelle Possum Nungurayyi, are renowned artists in their own right. There was legal controversy surrounding his burial, as his surviving family and community maintained he wished to be buried in a location different from that specified in his will. He was buried at Yuelamu, which had been the preference of his community and daughters, several weeks after his death. Posthumously, Tjapaltjarri's works are drawing increasing attention. The artist's majestic painting Warlugulong (previously bought by the Commonwealth Bank for just $1200) was auctioned by Sothebys on 24 July 2007. Pre-auction, the work was expected to make art history as the most expensive Aboriginal canvas at auction. The work was tipped to fetch up to A$2.5 million, more than double the then-record for Aboriginal art at auction. Junk DNA Play in Me and You

We Occupy "Animal" Bodies

A recent discovery by scientists exploring the mysteries of human and animal DNA strands has left some people in high academic circles surprised.What they discovered is that large segments of DNA in humans are identical to the strands found in all other world mammals.

Once called “junk DNA” because researchers examining the gene codes in humans found no use for it, the name has been changed to “mystery DNA” segments. While they appear important to both man and beast, genome scientists say they don’t yet know why.

This implies that the code is so vital that it was not changed even after millions of years of evolution, according to an article in the journal Science.

The article said a team of scientists at University of California, led by David Haussler, compared the genome sequences of man, mouse and rat. They discovered that several great stretches of DNA were identical in not only these species, but also in dogs, chickens and even fish.

“It absolutely knocked me off my chair,” Haussler said.

The double-stranded DNA molecule contains from 25,000 to 30,000 genes that cells use as templates to start the production of proteins.

The structure of the DNA strand is comprised of chemical compounds that in themselves split into as many as 3 billion base pairs within the cells of mammals. Obviously, things get pretty complex the deeper scientists look within the human and animal cell.

What has confused researchers is that many of these so-called “mystery DNA” regions do not appear to code for production of protein. This is why they were once thought to be junk, or unimportant parts of the code. Some suggested it was just “useless padding,” Haussler said.

DNA Card and DNA Can Painting

But finding the same strands in all mammals is making the scientific community rethink its original concept.

Obviously the function of these strands “is clearly of great importance,” the article said. It suggests that any change would have damaged the animal’s ability to survive.

Not only does the similarity in DNA support the concept of evolutionary change and development on this planet, it also makes it clear that humans are unique beings that occupy the bodies of earth animals.

Not all of the human DNA matches the DNA code of the dog, rat, chicken and fish. There is something unique in us. We believe some of these changes were added by our progenitor, Lucifer, thousands of years ago.

While the primate humanoid body was already successfully designed by the Mother Earth before Lucifer’s arrival, that body was occupied by an animal mind. It had basic left-brain survival knowledge and lived like an animal.

Once the alien arrived, and altered the DNA of these early primates, we were turned into humans almost overnight.

Thus, in a sense, we are aliens occupying the bodies of earth animals. We are all children of Lucifer.
