METGASCO are looking to slither into the Northern Rivers once again.

The first day of spring is supposed to be a joyful day.  It may well have been so if not for the doom and gloom of Coal Seam Gas back on the agenda.   The prospect of this all being a repeat performance of Bentley, Doubtful Creek and Glenugie has fired up the communities surrounding and across Australia to be ready for action again.   This ridiculous Metgasco company is now seeking compensation from the New South Wales Government for having their Petroleum License illegally revoked.

The license was revoked at the height of a serious protest known to the world as the Bentley Protest  by the people of Australia standing up for the beautiful Northern Rivers area surrounding Casino, Kyogle and Nimbin.  I was suspicious at the time that this license revocation would result in the tax payers paying for it in some other under handed way.  A way we are seeing here with Metgasco now.

There were thousands of people camped and more coming when the energy minister revoked Metgasco's license.

This did cause the protest camp to dismantle and go home feeling that for now they had prevented this filthy toxic industry from getting another foot hold in the area.

Today, the news was doom and gloom again.  Metgasco are now attempting a court battle and they want to go ahead with their PPLA9 outside Casino.

Here is the BREAKING NEWS and the link to the Full Story.
