JESUS

Did Jesus really exist?  This is a very commonly asked question.  My ex husband would have it that there is no other way to look at it other than to believe he was in fact real and the son of God.  For me, I tend to think differently than he regarding the actual book we call the Holy Bible and the man Jesus.

Scholars acknowledge the Bible stories such as the virgin birth, miracles, the resurrection, and  borrow and rework mythic themes ,

The themes these were borrowed from were common festivals and stories from in and around the Ancient Near East.

It was explained so well by Valerie Tarico in her statement that this has been done much the same way that screenwriters base new movies on old familiar tropes or plot elements.

From this perspective, voila we have a “historical Jesus” he was pedestilized became mythologized.

By putting him on a pedestal and admitting he is a part of the trinity although human he was then to be the only son of God.  The Church was able to cash in on a myth.

Instead there is an alternative to believe.   That is that the God consciousness is in us all and in everything in the universe and further out that we can imagine and as far in as we can imagine.
