The Government Heads of State came to Brisbane for the G20 Summit.

Brisbane was reported to resemble a ghost town.   World Leaders were bunkered in tight with security on everything including the toilet paper.  There were food tasters to test for Poison.  The taste testing amused me because why didnt they just put staff on the kitchen to watch the every move of the chefs preparing the food.  Tasting the food seemed so archaic a way to test etc.

The Russian Leader Vladimir Putin and his huge entourage stayed at the Brisbane Hilton.   319 people stayed at the Brisbane Hilton including Putin's mob and that of two other countries delegates from Mexico and Mauritania.

Hotel staff were on the strictest of orders not talk to family or friends or share details of anything regarding the VIP guests on social media.   The staff also stayed in house during the G20 Summit so it would have been very exciting for them.  The hectic weekend went off without a hitch for the staff who said sports stars were harder work any day.  The Mexican leader brought her own super huge make up mirror with her.  I find that to be simply indulgence plus for a politician.  They are politicians not super models and in reality as if one mirror is any better than another mirror if it is well made and of high quality.

I guess the thing that stuck with me the hardest and choked me up was the comment by the  Hilton Staffer who said they put much more effort into VIP's than normal people because those people are high maintenance  guests and require staff to pick up their game somewhat to look after them adequately to what they are used to.

On a personal level I feel offended by this.  All people are the same in my opinion, people.  We all come in the same way and go out the same and while we are here we all have to be human beings still and take care of the ordinary tasks.  Somehow the world sees a bank balance or a choice of job the deciding factor on their importance which incidentally  is sometimes only eventuated from a brilliant  stroke of good luck and perhaps not at all about ability but more about being in the right place at the right time.

I know the Hilton very very well  as its in next the hotel we all frequented in the city, The Embassy Hotel.
