For the second time now Islam has taken a complete turn away from itself and last century it was largely without the notice of the western world who somehow think that all Muslim people are the same.  How very wrong they are.  The first time was with advent of the Prophet Mohammad at the age of 40 in 610 CE.

Muhammad is said to have received his first verbal revelation in a cave named Mount Hira, which was the beginning of the descent of the Quran that continued up to the end of his life; and Muslims hold that Muhammad was asked by God to preach the oneness of God in order to stamp out idolatry, a practice overtly present in Arab society.

Because of persecution of the newly converted Muslims, upon the invitation of a delegation from Medina (then known as Yathrib), Muhammad and his followers migrated there in 622 CE, an event known as Hijra (Hegira).

A turning point in Muhammad’s life, this Hijra also marks the beginning of Islamic calendar. In Medina Muhammad sketched out the Constitution of Medina specifying the rights of and relations among the various existing communities there, formed an independent Muslim community (Ummah), and managed to establish the first Islamic state.

Despite the ongoing hostility of the Meccans, Muhammad, along with his followers, took control of Mecca in 630 CE, treated its citizens with generosity, and ordered to destroy all the pagan idols. In later years in Medina, Muhammad unified the different Arab tribes under Islam, carried out social and religious reforms, and made administrative developments that further consolidated the Islamic community. By the time he died in 632, his teachings had won the acceptance of Islam by almost all the tribes of the Arabian Peninsula

Two types of Jihad - Defensive and  Offensive.

Jihad is a responsibility and there has always been Jihad.  There was Jihad against Christian Europe.
Ottoman's were in Vienna 1683.

All the jihads today are defensive because that is a function of Islamic theology

In Islamic law only the caliph can declare offensive Jihad and there is no Caliph, not since 1924 when Turkish government abolished the office.

There is no one authorized in the Islamic world to declare offensive jihad against non Muslims.
So to obey the Islamic law Muslims declare defensive jihad only.

The Saudi's have been spending millions of dollars to spread their version of Islam, so they have been  underwriting proselytizing efforts and paying for mosques.  They use incentives especially spending money in prisons and with prisoners in the United States to convert them to Islam.  They are pre alienated and violent and channel this and say to them that God loves their violence, its rather a sick way to go about enlisting members.  Council on American Islamic Relations. The uninitiated go to CARE an organization that has been identified as an unendicted co conspirator in the holy land charity cases funding money to Hamas.  This is where media get their information from on Islamic Law.  It is unbelievable how gullible people are.

The current King of Saudi Arabia is Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (Arabic: سلمان بن عبد العزيز آل سعود‎‎‎, Salmān ibn ‘Abd al-‘Azīz Āl Sa‘ūd; born 31 December 1935) is the king of Saudi Arabia, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the head of the House of Saud.

He served as the Deputy Governor and then the Governor of Riyadh for 48 years from 1963 to 2011. He was appointed as Minister of Defence in 2011. He was also named the Crown Prince in 2012 following the death of his brother Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Salman was crowned as the new King of Saudi Arabia on 23 January 2015 following the death of his half brother, King Abdullah.
