AGL should consider what happened at Bentley!

My friend Chris Sheed who is the president of the Manning Clean Water Action Group affectionately known as McWAG has been instrumental in getting the truth out there about the filthy toxicicity of the CSG Mining industry.

This type of mining has many names now and I believe this has been done to confuse the already confused masses, and so another name is Tight Sands Fraccing or the Hydraulic Fracturing of the Coal Seam to shake the gas free from the spaces in the permeable rock deep underground.

Chris made a statement to the ABC media from McWag and he covered the fact that AGL should be concerned about their project because of Metgasco's License suspension of their Mining License showed that the Office of Coal Seam Gas were serious about enforcing this where companies were proven to have no social license to proceed.  Further to this he made these statements...
"I think anytime where you have strong community opposition to a project that project cannot be said to have a social license".

"There is some scientific data on social license which is sort of a hierarchy of community acceptance."

"Where you have active protests there is really no social license as has been very clearly demonstrated at places such as Bentley."

"Any attempt by the AGL on four approved test wells will be met by resistance similar to that at Bentley."

"A number of groups have committed to taking non-violent direct action in the event that the state government grants approval to AGL to start fracking the four wells for which they have sought approval to fracc."

"It is highly likely that Gloucester will become a focus of anti coal seam gas activity because it is one of the icons that we do not want to see destroyed."
AGL continue to say they have fully consulted with the community, but we know their consultation has been flawed and in the form of bribery to schools and hospitals and clubs.  The local school children were embroiled in a recent scandal where AGL used these children's images in an advertisement with out permission and it was filmed on school property.  The Local Chill Out Festival which is sponsored by AGL is another carrot waving affair that is sent to blind any opposition and its an old and tried and true method.  GIVE  THEM MONEY...  money they think is the key to getting their way.

Money maybe the key to most but luckily there are still people who have not as yet reached this level of insanity and petty maddness caused from greed and still see things for what they are.  I take my hat off to Chris because I could not have said any of it better.   This is what makes him worthy of his OAM in my book.  He is a man that will stand up for truth and justice for people and the Earth.
