“Luke Hartsuyker has sold us out.”

The day after the election and I am so worried about the final result here.  Carol spoke so much truth when she said a vote for Luke is a vote for Coal Seam Gas.  In the future we will be knitting against Gas out at the front of Luke's Office in Coffs Harbour in Little Street, so he will have to get used to us all.

Carol Vernon said:

“Luke Hartsuyker has stated that farming and coal seam gas can coexist. “Luke Hartsuyker and the Nationals have sold out to the Liberals. They have sold out farmers and all those depending on a mid north coast environment that is not industrialised like the Hunter Valley and southern Queensland. They have sold out tourism, the fishing industry, the beautiful natural areas we love, and our children’s birthright.

“Expect farms dotted with wells and crisscrossed by roads and pipelines. Expect lights and noise 24/7 and toxic smells in your peaceful rural neighbourhood. Expect mining pollution contaminating our rivers. Expect roads clogged by mining industry vehicles.
  • “Expect a drop in your property values.
  • “The Nationals and Liberals are prepared to risk our water and rivers for their corporate mates.”
  • “The Nationals and Liberals have manufactured a fake debt crisis. This was exposed yesterday on release of their budget projections. The Liberals didn’t even bother to promise to return the economy to a surplus any sooner than Labor.
Now they will justify rampant coal seam gas mining on our farmlands and toxic minerals mining in the headwaters of our rivers, in terms of the need for evermore growth and profits, mainly for overseas companies.

Carol Vernon also said:

“A vote for Luke Hartsuyker is a vote for an industrialised mid north coast. I warned of this. I wanted to debate Luke Hartsuyker on this. He avoided comment until the last days of the campaign.

Now get ready to fight for your children’s right to clean air and clean water".  From the Mid North Coast Greens
