of the Lock the Gate Foundation of Australia
Which is now fast being seen to be an emerging political party that could  be sprung up from the grass roots of people right across the land of Australia.  There are people like Mr Drew Hutton who are well up for the job.  I am pleased to have met him now on a few occasions and I do trust that his learned ability is up to that of the foe - straight government Liberal and Labor Parties.

The Lock the Gate Alliance is a national grassroots organization made up of thousands of individuals and over 160 local groups who are concerned about inappropriate mining.

The mission of the Lock the Gate Alliance is to p
rotect Australia’s natural, environmental, cultural and agricultural resources from inappropriate mining and to educate and empower all Australians to demand sustainable solutions to food and energy production.

The Alliance is committed in all its activities to the following principles:
1.That robust scientific assessment, the precautionary principle and the principle of inter-generational equity should guide decision-making.
2.That communities should have the ultimate say, within the context of principle 1.
3.That it will support all and any communities who support the objectives of the Alliance.

Through its organization and campaigning against inappropriate mining, the Alliance has five central aims:
1.To protect Australia’s water systems.
2.To protect Australia’s agricultural land for food and fiber production.
3.To protect Australia’s bush lands, wetlands and wildlife.
4.To protect the health of all Australians.
5. To protect Australia’s Aboriginal and cultural heritage
