This is about Mining on the Mid-North Coast, current threats, past evidence and action being taken that you can involve yourself in! Current threats to this area include toxic mines for Gold (Cyanide processing) & Antimony Mining and they are dangerous because of the extremely high rainfall in this area. Antimony mining in its headwaters has destroyed the Macleay River that flows through Kempsey.

We want people to know about what is going in their backyard!  This is also part of the National Week of Action against Coal Seam Gas. We stand with our brothers and sisters all across Australia to oppose this new energy obsession and enemy of Australia's Natural Heritage. PROTECT OUR WATER! PROTECT OUR LAND! PROTECT OUR KIDS!

Mining Exploration Continues in the Orara Valley
A concerned group of residents are holding a Public Information Night at 6.30pm, Monday 22nd October at Coramba Hall to raise awareness of potential Mining development within the Karangi, Upper Orara, Dairyille, Coramba, Nana Glen and Bucca areas of the Orara Valley.
One of the groups’ organisers and Karangi market gardener, Mr Keiron Sames said today that “The intentions of Altius Mining are virtually unknown to the residents of the Orara Valley and Coffs Harbour. We have started looking for information on what Altius has done and what they are planning. What we are finding is very concerning and we think that everyone in the area should know about it.”
