There is a protest against the protestors - Gloucester Supports Mining -

 IMG 9775 Gloucester

The pro mining sector of Gloucester have rallied themselves and gotten a Facebook page to gather support against the Protectors of the Gloucester Valley.

The posts on the page have alluded to creating violence against those protectors who are locals and not from other areas as reported on this group.  There are many more supporters of NO CSG but these people are elderly and they fear the tactics of this red neck type vigilante group.

The page is loaded with made up stories of protectors peeing on a public road in front of the motel to lighting fires everywhere to abuse of people to saying the protestors are paid a total of $150.00 a day to protest.

The page was started by Joolz and Dave Ireland and Kylie Cole and this is how they describe this group and what they say about their town of Gloucester

"Most locals know that for years, mining has been the main driving force in our town. Without it our town was dead and buried long ago. The mills slowly closed their doors leaving locals without work, then came time for the dairy farmers to close their doors as well as the local butter factory which in turn more jobs where lost. Locals where leaving town to find work else where. Then along came the mine, which created jobs for the locals again and put money back into town, it bought new families to town who have since settled here, their children going to school and working local, growing up and having families of their own and continuing to live locally.
Now we have people who don't even live in the area coming into our town and picketing and protesting about the mine. Setting up a protester camp to accommodate 50 tents with the option to expand and making our town look ugly with all the signs they have continually pushed down your throat. Whats even funnier is that they sit outside AGL head quarters in Gloucester protesting but then continually ask AGL staff if they can use AGL amenities. Sitting there with their gas burners heating their cups of tea.
Lets protest against the protesters, Lets show them that this is our town and in our town mining is supported.

Do you have a mining story to tell, are you someone who came here with the mines and are still here now. Please feel free to post it we would love to hear about it."
I managed to get inside of this group and so I will continue to read what they are thinking.  I am appalled at the level of made ups stories already printed there and already asking Police to action things that are completely fictional.  This is breaking the law and wasting police time.
