THE YELLOW PAGES ... gamma

A primrose by a river's brim
A yellow primrose was to him
And it was nothing more
William Wordsworth
(April 07, 1770 - April 23, 1850)

Sumptuary Laws in Elizabethan times dictated who could wear which colors!  The colors of Elizabethan cloths, including the color Yellow, provided information about the status of the man or woman wearing them.
